TODAY’S BIG STORY…

President Donald Trump signed multiple Executive Orders yesterday, including one revoking security clearances for employees at Perkins Coie, the law firm linked to Hillary Clinton and the discredited 2016 Russia collusion dossier.

The dossier, largely discredited for its claim of Trump working with Russia to rig the election, fueled a costly Special Counsel investigation that ultimately found no substantiated claims. John Durham’s 2023 report confirmed the FBI failed to verify any key allegations.

The executive order holds the law firm accountable for political lawfare and government weaponization. The White House posted numerous details of offenses by Perkins Coie over the years, such as collaborating with activist donors like George Soros to overturn voter ID laws. The DOJ also accused Perkins Coie of racial discrimination and that the firm enforced racial hiring quotas that violated civil rights laws until lawsuits forced changes. The firm also hosted an FBI workspace, raising concerns about partisan misuse of sensitive data, and filed lawsuits against the Trump administration, including one aimed at reducing military readiness.

AND HERE’S ANOTHER BIG STORY…

China has vowed to “fight till the end” against President Trump’s increased tariffs, warning it is prepared for any economic conflict with the U.S.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Trump's tariff hike from 10% to 20%, imposed over Beijing’s failure to curb fentanyl trafficking. Spokesperson Lin Jian stated, “If war is what the U.S. wants… we’re ready to fight till the end.” In retaliation, China has placed a 15% tariff on American agricultural goods.

China not only threatened economic war but also denied responsibility for the fentanyl crisis, placing full blame on the U.S. while claiming to act “in the spirit of humanity.” The Chinese Embassy reinforced its stance by reposting the statement, emphasizing, “If war is what the U.S. wants… we’re ready to fight till the end.”

MY OPINION…

This is Denny, filling in for DML.
President Trump needs to send a clear message to Democrats: the games are over. One of the very first smears directed at Trump during his first term was the Russia collusion hoax. The Steele Dossier, the Mueller investigation, the Putin’s puppet accusations, etc. Even to this day, leftists push the narrative of Trump working with Putin on secret back channels, this time with Elon Musk involved. Hillary Clinton remains the staunchest of the hoax pushers with every media appearance. I’m glad Trump is holding Hillary’s stalwarts accountable for peddling their lies just to derail his presidency.

As for China, Trump should be launching more investigations into their actions, including their spy networks operating in the U.S. or their lucrative land ownership deals. Tariffs are a great start, too, for showing the CCP that the U.S. means business, but the follow-through must include ending their systemic abuse of our economy and real estate. And ending their birthing tourism schemes.

THE ADMINISTRATION…

  • Trump posted on Truth Social: “The Democrats should lose the Midterms based on their behavior at last night’s Joint Address to Congress,” and mentioned how Republicans should easily win the 2026 midterms if they highlight all the uncommon sense issues of the Democrat Party.

  • DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor honored by Trump in Congress, met the president this week for another heartfelt moment. The aspiring police officer received a standing ovation when Trump made him an honorary Secret Service agent.

  • At a press conference on the southern border, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard revealed details about terror-linked illegal aliens released into U.S. communities under the Biden administration. Gabbard highlighted that in 2024 alone, over 4,000 individuals from Central Asia, linked to an ISIS-affiliated network, crossed the border. The National Counterterrorism Center identified hundreds as known terrorists, yet only eight of the more than 100 arrested were deported or remained in custody—the rest were released into the U.S.

  • The Small Business Administration is tightening regulations to prevent illegal aliens from receiving taxpayer-funded benefits, now requiring proof of citizenship for all programs and loans. Additionally, the agency will relocate offices from six sanctuary cities.

  • Canadian lawyer Jeffrey Rath is leading efforts to explore Alberta joining the U.S. as President Trump pushes for closer ties with the energy-rich province. Rath confirmed hundreds of Albertans are volunteering to support the initiative. He and a small group plan to visit D.C. to discuss options, including independence with U.S. economic ties, territorial status, or full statehood.

  • The White House dismissed a Reuters exclusive as fake news, denying claims that the Trump administration plans to revoke temporary legal status for 240,000 Ukrainian refugees, which could lead to deportation.

  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced plans to revoke visas for foreign students supporting Hamas and other terrorist groups. One student has already had their visa canceled and will be deported.

  • President Trump signed an executive order creating a government bitcoin reserve and “digital asset stockpile.” The reserve will be funded using bitcoin seized by federal law enforcement from financial crimes.

  • Tasked by Trump with dismantling USAID, the agency’s acting head, Peter Marocco, told lawmakers his staff is preparing potential criminal referrals for misuse of taxpayer funds meant for foreign aid. In a closed-door meeting with the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Marocco said an internal review had uncovered a pattern of illegal activity.

  • A federal judge refused to block mass firings at USAID, allowing the Trump administration’s overhaul to proceed. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols ruled that contractors failed to prove irreparable harm or a strong legal case, denying their request to reinstate jobs.

  • DOGE highlighted recent fraud cases in Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security in a post on X, citing a 2024 Government Accountability Office report estimating annual federal fraud losses between $233 billion and $521 billion.

  • The VA canceled a $56,000 contract for the watering of eight plants over five years at their office. The contract has been scrapped, and DOGE will now handle plant care at no cost.

  • A border wall upgrade project canceled by former President Biden is back underway in Texas' Rio Grande Valley. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks confirmed the Trump administration had restarted the Biden-era-canceled construction.

VICE PRESIDENT…

JD Vance gave a blunt response when asked if U.S. forces would invade Mexico during a press conference in Eagle Pass, Texas.

"No. Next question," the vice president replied. He declined to comment on potential airstrikes or military action, stating, "The president has a megaphone, and he’ll speak to those issues as he feels necessary."

CONGRESS…

The House voted 224-198 to censure Rep. Al Green (D-TX) after he was ejected from Trump’s congressional address. Ten Democrats joined Republicans.

Oversight Committee Chair James Comer clashed with Rep. Ayanna Pressley after denying her request to enter articles into the congressional record during a hearing on sanctuary city policies. Pressley claimed U.S. citizens commit more violent crimes than immigrants, sparking a heated exchange. Comer accused Democrats of disruptive tactics, stating the committee would not tolerate such behavior.

The Senate voted 66-30 to advance former Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s nomination to lead the Department of Labor, setting up her confirmation vote for next week.

Marty Makary, a surgeon and Trump’s FDA nominee, faced senators in his confirmation hearing Thursday, aligning with the Make America Healthy Again agenda.

Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott (R-S.C.) introduced legislation targeting debanking, the practice of closing accounts without explanation. Republicans, especially in the cryptocurrency industry, have raised concerns about its impact.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) voiced support for President Trump’s decision to engage directly with Hamas on hostage releases amid its ceasefire with Israel. He stated, “I trust Trump,” referencing Trump’s Truth Social post demanding the immediate release of hostages in Gaza.

THE RESISTANCE…

Barack Obama’s post-presidency plans hit another hurdle as DOGE canceled the lease for his presidential records facility in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The site housed millions of documents, classified records, and artifacts, including a Saudi-jeweled sword and Obama’s silver BlackBerry.

The first episode of California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s new podcast, This is Gavin Newsom, featured conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Newsom, a Democrat, revealed his 13-year-old son is a fan of Kirk’s. Newsom launched the podcast to feature conversations with those he disagrees with, fueling speculation that he is positioning himself as a moderate for a potential presidential run.

In the final months of the Biden administration, the NIH awarded $28 million to Vaccine Company Inc., a little-known firm founded in 2022, whose CFO was a top Biden COVID adviser. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) questioned the September 2024 grant, noting the company has no public record of its work. Ernst urged HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to investigate.

A second federal judge blocked President Trump’s freeze on federal grants and loans, ruling the White House overstepped its authority. U.S. District Judge John McConnell Jr. barred the administration from withholding congressionally approved funds to states.

Despite a last-minute pardon from his father, Hunter Biden faces financial troubles and legal fallout from his infamous laptop. He asked a judge to dismiss his lawsuit against a former Trump aide over its publication due to his dwindling funds.

Astronaut Barry Wilmore claims former President Biden left them stranded in space for political reasons. Elon Musk offered a SpaceX rescue after Boeing’s capsule malfunctioned, but the Biden administration refused, allegedly to protect Kamala Harris’s struggling campaign.
