Day 99
The closer we get to WW3.
Today’s Big Story…
President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky secured front-row seats at Pope Francis’ funeral in Vatican City, defying expectations they’d be seated behind clergy and royals.
However, what was more unexpected was the private two-seat arrangement between Trump and Zelensky before the funeral at St. Peter’s Basilica. French President Emmanuel Macron attempted to join the talks, but the video captured Trump turning him away so that he could speak to Zelensky one-on-one, and personnel removed the third chair.
Reportedly, the meeting lasted about 15 minutes. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said Trump’s meeting was “very productive,” with more details to come.
Total power move. Zelenskyy attempts to meet with Trump at Saint Peter‘s Basilica, but wanted President Macron there as well. Three chairs were set up when Trump arrived. Then he tells Macron to leave and that he’ll meet with Zelenskyy one on one. This is how you end the

Another Big Story…
Meanwhile, President Trump criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin over the weekend for ongoing attacks on Ukraine and said he must be “dealt with differently” going forward.
Trump suggested Putin may need to be handled with “secondary sanctions,” warning, “Too many people are dying!” This comes as 50 senators recently introduced a bipartisan bill to impose more sanctions on Russia.
My Thoughts…
Riddle me this: how does a third party end a war between two stubborn egos who continue to escalate their deadly conflict? That’s unfortunately the dilemma Trump is faced with. We have to hope WW3 is not around the corner.

The Trump administration announced grants for artists to sculpt figures like George Washington and Davy Crockett for a new National Garden of American Heroes, celebrating the nation's 250th birthday.
The White House released a video urging illegal aliens to self-deport, featuring warnings from President Trump, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, and Border Czar Tom Homan. It features "Take Me Home, Country Roads" as background music.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio called reports that three U.S. citizen children were deported “misleading,” clarifying that their mothers were deported for being in the country illegally and the children left with them voluntarily. He emphasized the kids, ages 2, 4, and 7, were not forcibly removed and are free to return to their father or another guardian.
Rubio said Sunday that the Trump administration will decide this week whether to continue pursuing a negotiated settlement in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine or to turn its attention to other matters.
The nonprofit that represents AmeriCorps’ state commissions, which organize state-level community service programs funded by the federal agency, has said that commissions in all 50 states; Washington, D.C.; and several territories had major AmeriCorps grant funding canceled without notice on Friday evening.
Iran nuclear talks: A third round of talks between Iran and the United States over Tehran’s nuclear activities concluded Saturday after several hours of indirect negotiations. Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, said in an interview with Iran’s state television that disagreements remained between Tehran and Washington, but that he was “cautiously optimistic that we can progress.”
Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer warned governors they could lose federal funds if they extend unemployment benefits to illegal aliens, urging full compliance with President Trump’s directives.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is ordering states to ensure illegal aliens aren't receiving food stamps, enforcing President Trump’s February executive order to tighten benefit eligibility and prevent fraud. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said arrests have already been made in Minnesota, New York, and Colorado.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, along with state law enforcement officials, arrested about 780 immigrants in Florida in an operation this week, according to ICE.
Federal authorities announced Sunday that more than a hundred illegal immigrants were detained in a massive raid at an underground nightclub in Colorado Springs that officials say was "frequented by TdA and MS-13 terrorists." The DEA led a multi-agency operation early Sunday morning and arrested 114 illegal immigrants at the venue that contained more than 200 people inside. Authorities uncovered drugs, including pink cocaine, as well as evidence of prostitution and multiple firearms during the operation, according to the DEA.
Two illegal aliens were arrested for stealing DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse, which held $3,000, IDs, and keys, during her Easter outing in Washington, DC.
National Security Adviser Mike Waltz defended Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth amid Pentagon turmoil, including allegations of unsecured Signal app use and the exit of several top staffers.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed contact with his Chinese counterpart last week amid the ongoing U.S.-China trade war. While Beijing denied trade talks, President Trump insisted meetings took place.
President Trump said his tariff policy could significantly reduce or even eliminate income taxes for many Americans, particularly those earning under $200,000.
President Trump also argued that U.S. military and commercial ships should travel free through the Panama and Suez Canals, claiming the U.S. made those routes possible and that it could save American companies hundreds of millions annually.
Arresting the judge who interferes with ICE is a smart legal move. The same should be down to mayors and governors who harbor illegal aliens. It’s the law.

Vice President…
JD Vance tweeted criticism of a federal judge's ruling that stopped the Trump administration from ending DEI programs in schools, saying it ignores the voters' choice to undo Biden's policies. He believes the judge is overstepping by forcing personal views over the democratic will of the people.
Congress…
Congress is expected to receive President Trump’s proposed rescissions this week, aiming to cut up to $9 billion from current spending. Unlike typical future budget cuts, these target existing funds and may include eliminating support for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, impacting NPR, PBS, and about 1,500 local stations.

Air Force veteran Alea Nadeem has launched a Republican challenge against longtime Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District. Motivated by her post-9/11 military service and recent time on Capitol Hill, Nadeem said she entered politics after realizing life wasn’t improving for Americans.
House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-MO) said President Trump doesn’t want his major agenda bill to focus on health care, but rather on securing the border and boosting U.S. energy. Smith emphasized Trump’s commitment to protecting individual benefits and keeping the bill economically focused.
The Resistance…
Liberals criticized President Trump for wearing a blue suit to Pope Francis’ funeral, even though many world leaders did the same, while Ukrainian President Zelenskyy didn’t wear a suit at all.
A Clinton-appointed judge blocked President Trump’s executive order requiring proof of citizenship to vote, agreeing with plaintiffs that it would harm the Democratic Party. U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly also halted Trump’s plan to tie federal funding to states’ voter ID requirements.
Former New Mexico Judge Joel Cano and his wife were arrested for allegedly harboring a Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang member and destroying evidence. Federal agents say Cano smashed a cellphone containing incriminating images of the gang member with guns. The couple faces up to 15 years in prison after the raid uncovered firearms, drugs, and cartel content.
Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) suggested the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity could aid Judge Hannah Dugan, who faces obstruction and concealment charges.
