Today’s Big Story…

President Trump signed an executive order requesting Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate ActBlue for allegedly enabling illegal "straw" donations and foreign contributions, citing concerns over the platform’s improper influence in U.S. elections.

The White House memo claims ActBlue allows donors to skirt federal limits by splitting contributions under multiple names. However, ActBlue called the accusation a "brazen attack on democracy" and vowed to fight it in court.

ActBlue dominates Democratic fundraising, often serving as the default donation option on party campaign sites. Critics say it's become a partisan gatekeeper, profiting from nearly every contribution by taking a 3.95% cut. Additionally, earlier this month, GOP House committee leaders released a report accusing ActBlue of enabling illegal activity and ignoring alleged fraud.

Another Big Story…

President Trump announced he’ll meet with Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg, who was accidentally added to a Signal chat with top Trump officials.

Trump said he’s doing the interview “out of curiosity” to see if The Atlantic can cover him truthfully, remarking how the outlet writes “fictional stories” about his presidency. Trump said Goldberg, along with Atlantic writers Michael Scherer and Ashley Parker, will interview him for a story titled “The Most Consequential President of this Century.”

The sit-down follows a recent blunder where National Security Adviser Mike Waltz accidentally added Goldberg to a Signal chat about a planned U.S. strike in Yemen.

My Thoughts…

Personally, I don’t believe Trump should be giving Goldberg the time of day. However, Trump is known to always be ready for a challenge, even against those in the mainstream media. I doubt Goldberg will be balanced or fair with his questioning; it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. And hopefully, the DOJ nails ActBlue, and some accountability can be had with that corrupt platform.

The Administration…

  • President Trump will hold a rally in Macomb County, Michigan, next Tuesday to mark his first 100 days in office—his first visit to the state since winning it in 2024.

  • A new Fox News poll shows Trump with 55% approval on border security but just 44% overall, with notable declines on the economy, taxes, inflation, tariffs, and foreign policy.

  • Trump slammed Democrats on Truth Social for opposing his deportation efforts, noting that at least five traveled to El Salvador to try to bring back a deported MS-13 suspect.

  • Department of Transportation lawyers accidentally posted a memo revealing plans to kill New York’s congestion pricing—and admitted it’s “very unlikely” to succeed. The leaked document outlined flaws in Secretary Sean Duffy’s legal case against the $9 toll for drivers entering Manhattan.

  • Columbia University warned anti-Israel protesters it will dismantle any new encampments and may arrest participants, citing reports of plans to repeat last year’s unrest that led to the occupation of Hamilton Hall and over 200 arrests during Gaza war protests.

  • The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to let the Pentagon enforce its ban on transgender troops, after two judges blocked it, claiming the policy is unconstitutional and discriminatory.

  • Rock legend Cherie Currie, former lead singer of The Runaways, declared herself a “full MAGA conservative” after months of criticizing radical LGBTQ ideology and gun control. She confirmed it on X, writing “Damn Straight” while sharing a Gateway Pundit article about her shift.

  • "Trump 2028" hats are now selling for $50 on Trump’s official store, hinting at a third-term run despite the 22nd Amendment. The red caps replace "MAGA" with "Trump 2028" and feature Eric Trump modeling them.

Vice President…

JD Vance poured beers for U.S. troops at Ramstein Air Base in Germany during a refueling stop on his way home from a busy week abroad. His trip included Easter at the Vatican—where he met Pope Francis shortly before the pontiff’s death—and a visit to India with his family.

Congress…

Republicans have introduced the "Family First Act" to boost the child tax credit—$4,200 for kids under 6 and $3,000 for older ones—while eliminating other tax breaks. The credit would be fully refundable and cover up to six children.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders were caught yet again living quite lavishly, as they were seen exiting a $15,000-per-hour private jet during an anti-wealth campaign tour, despite their frequent criticism of private air travel and the wealthy.

Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton announced her Senate run after Sen. Dick Durbin revealed he’s retiring. Stratton has served with Gov. JB Pritzker since 2018 and is a former state representative.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) is heading to North Carolina to cohost a staged town hall in GOP Rep. Richard Hudson’s district as he eyes a 2028 presidential run.

DNC Chair Ken Martin reaffirmed the party’s neutrality in primaries, pushing back against Vice Chair David Hogg, who pledged $20 million through his group to challenge older Democrats in safe blue districts.

The Resistance…

  1. DHS confirmed that deported MS-13 suspect Kilmar Abrego Garcia was stopped in 2022 while driving a car belonging to a convicted human smuggler with eight men in Tennessee.

  2. A federal judge in California blocked President Trump’s attempt to cut federal funds from sanctuary cities, ruling it unconstitutional. Judge William Orrick claimed the orders violated separation of powers, the Spending Clause, the Fifth Amendment’s due process protections, and the Tenth Amendment by coercing local officials into enforcing federal immigration laws.

  3. A federal judge ruled the Trump administration must bring back a second man deported to El Salvador, saying last month’s removal of the 20-year-old Venezuelan violated a court-approved settlement.

  4. A federal judge blocked the Trump administration from enforcing a proof-of-citizenship rule for federal voter registration, dealing a setback to Trump’s push to tighten election rules.

  5. A federal judge blocked Trump administration efforts to strip funding from schools with DEI programs, siding with a lawsuit from the NEA and ACLU that called the directives vague and a violation of First Amendment rights.

  6. Alex Soros, chair of the Open Society Foundations, criticized the Soros-funded Sunrise Movement, saying, “All they do is talk about Palestine.” In a New York Magazine interview, he also outlined plans to fund efforts to counter the Trump administration, just like his father, George.

  7. The VP is being called a “pope killer” by radical-leftist-SNL-comedian Bowen Yang, who made the insolent comment on yesterday’s episode of The View, sending Whoopi Goldberg and her fellow co-hosts into fits of laughter.

  8. Korbein Schultz, a former Army intelligence analyst, was sentenced to seven years for leaking sensitive military info to someone he thought worked for China. The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to espionage-related charges and accepting bribes.

  9. Rev. Jamal Bryant of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is urging a full boycott of Target after the company ended its DEI programs. He’s demanding the return of initiatives that support Black employees and promote Black-owned businesses.

  10. Several media outlets are exaggerating a report about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth requesting a makeup studio at the Pentagon for media appearances.
