Day 94
Donald J. Trump, the pro-babies president!
Today’s Big Story…
The Trump administration is weighing proposals to encourage marriage and childbearing as part of a broader push to reverse declining birthrates and promote conservative family values.
One idea under review would reserve 30% of Fulbright scholarships for applicants who are married or have children. Another proposal offers American mothers a $5,000 “baby bonus” after childbirth. A third would fund programs to educate women about their menstrual cycles, including how to track ovulation for conception.
The growing movement to address declining birth rates now has allies in the Trump administration, including Vice President JD Vance and Elon Musk. Advocates have met with White House aides, sharing various proposals to encourage childbirth, though officials haven’t committed to any specific plans.
Another Big Story…
Elon Musk said on an earnings call that he’ll refocus on Tesla after the company reported a sharp first-quarter decline.
Vehicle sales revenue dropped 20%, and net income plunged 71%, amid tariff concerns and scrutiny over Musk’s influence in government. Musk said he’ll devote more time to Tesla starting next month but will still spend “a day or two” on government work as long as Trump wants.
He didn’t say if his role with the DOGE initiative hurt Tesla’s sales, but he acknowledged some “blowback” from his government involvement. Overall, Musk defended DOGE, saying it’s helped reduce waste and fraud and is aimed at “getting the country back on track.”
My Thoughts…
If done correctly, the pro-baby initiative can spark a revival in pro-family culture in America, particularly in a dwindling White population. If done incorrectly, these incentives will end up being a burden on the welfare state and provide more leeway for anchor baby abuse from illegal aliens to overstayed visa holders. And while Musk did his best with DOGE, and with his time in the government likely ending soon, I’m sure he would be thrilled to see a pro-population incentive program be implemented to reverse the decline. He does have 14 children after all!

The State Department eliminated 132 offices and 700 jobs to streamline operations. Secretary Marco Rubio said the changes aim to remove barriers to the department’s core diplomatic mission. The overhaul cuts the total number of offices by 17%

Despite calling Fed Chair Jerome Powell a “major loser” on Truth Social, President Trump said he has no plans to fire him.
Vice President…
JD Vance’s trip to India was met with a tragic event similar to his Rome visit before Pope Francis’ passing. At least 24 people were killed after terrorists opened fire on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir, in what authorities called a terror attack by anti-India militants.
Congress…
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) announced she’ll visit El Salvador at the invitation of President Nayib Bukele amid Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown. She confirmed the trip won’t be taxpayer-funded.
Meanwhile, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) confirmed that his trip to El Salvador aimed to help return Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported illegal alien with alleged MS-13 ties, was taxpayer-funded.
Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) is launching his campaign to succeed retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell, with a kickoff event in Richmond and a video framing him as a loyal Trump ally and critic of "woke" policies on diversity, transgender issues, and energy.
A right-leaning ethics group is urging a Senate investigation into Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) for allegedly failing to disclose free housing provided by Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he serves as a part-time pastor. The group claims this may violate federal law and Senate ethics rules.
Families of murdered Americans never got a call. No visit. No help. But Democrats are flying to El Salvador to defend an accused MS-13 member. This is what they fight for — and who they ignore. We covered it on today’s show.
