Today’s Big Story…

The White House has updated its COVID-19 guidance page to state that the virus likely originated from a lab leak involving gain-of-function research.

The page is titled “Lab Leak” with the subheading “The True Origins of COVID-19” and disputes the earlier claim that the virus emerged naturally. It stated the virus contains unnatural biological traits and likely came from a single human introduction, unlike past pandemics.

Wuhan, home to China’s top SARS lab, has a history of risky gain-of-function research. Researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology reportedly showed COVID-like symptoms in late 2019. The administration concluded that, by scientific standards, a natural origin would have been evident by now, but no such evidence has emerged.

The website also pointed blame to former President Joe Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci for suppressing debate over the virus's origin and mishandling the public response, such as extensive lockdowns, pro-masking initiatives, and the six feet apart rule.

Another Big Story…

During a swearing-in ceremony in the Oval Office, Dr. Mehmet Oz rushed to assist his granddaughter after she collapsed near the Resolute Desk while President Trump spoke. A White House official confirmed that the child fainted but has since recovered. The incident occurred as Trump was answering reporters’ questions.

HHS official Robert F. Kennedy Jr. swore in Dr. Mehmet Oz to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services following his Senate confirmation. Oz will manage $1.5 trillion in federal healthcare spending, including Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP, and oversee decisions on coverage for procedures, hospital stays, and medications.

My Thoughts…

Happy Easter weekend, everyone. While God forgives sinners, He shouldn't forgive Fauci. At least I find it difficult for anyone who can. He is the man responsible for the Plandemic and the ramifications of pointless lockdowns and controversial gene therapies disguised as vaccines. Glad to see the Trump White House is shedding light on Fauci’s many, many sins.

The Administration…

  • First Lady Melania Trump shared an Easter message on Good Friday and noted the upcoming White House Easter Egg Roll set for Monday, April 21.

  • President Trump extended the federal hiring freeze for civilian jobs through July 15 by signing a new memorandum.

  • President Trump has appointed conservative commentator Mark Levin to the Homeland Security Advisory Council. Levin, a talk radio host and Fox News personality, joins other newly selected members on the panel.

  • President Trump replaced newly appointed IRS acting commissioner Gary Shapley just days into the role amid reports of a dispute between Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Michael Faulkender, Bessent’s deputy, will take over as acting commissioner.

  • DNI Tulsi Gabbard declassified the Biden administration’s 15-page “Strategic Implementation Plan for Countering Domestic Terrorism.” The 2021 document outlines four key pillars of the strategy, shedding light on Biden’s use of lawfare.

  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that Ukraine-Russia peace talks must progress within days or President Trump will walk away. Ending the war was a key Trump campaign promise, but stalled negotiations are testing the administration’s patience.

  • Actor Vince Vaughn joined President Trump in the Oval Office on Good Friday after a Capitol prayer service.

  • President Donald Trump mocked Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) on Truth Social, joining conservatives in ridiculing his trip to El Salvador to meet with deported illegal alien and alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Vice President…

JD Vance met with Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni in Rome for a second round of talks on tariffs, followed by Good Friday services at the Vatican amid speculation of a possible meeting with the pope. The two had met the day before in the Oval Office, where Trump praised Meloni’s tough stance on immigration but stood firm on tariffs, heightening tensions with the EU.

Congress…

Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) was finally allowed to meet with deported illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador after multiple denials. President Nayib Bukele mocked the meeting online, posting photos and sarcastically commenting that Garcia had “miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’” and was now “sipping margaritas” with the senator in El Salvador.

Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) questioned DHS Secretary Kristi Noem about upcoming Real ID requirements set to take effect in two weeks. The new rules require a U.S. birth certificate, passport, or green card, plus proof of Social Security number and residency, to get a compliant driver’s license.

Former Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) is won the Oakland mayoral special election. She secured victory in a closer-than-expected ranked-choice race against more than six candidates, amid rising voter frustration over the city’s direction.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) announced that his daughter Cosette passed away earlier this week after a battle with cancer. He said the family is devastated but finds comfort in knowing she is at peace with the Lord.

The Resistance…

  2. New York AG Letitia James called the Trump administration’s mortgage fraud referral against her “baseless” in an interview but declined to elaborate. She denied allegations of falsifying real estate records in Virginia and NY.

  3. Joe Kasper, chief of staff to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, will soon step down for a new role at the agency amid Pentagon turmoil. Meanwhile, senior adviser Dan Caldwell, deputy chief Darin Selnick, and Colin Carroll were placed on leave and later fired as part of an ongoing leak investigation.

  4. A federal judge restricted DOGE from accessing Social Security systems containing personal data. The injunction, issued by Judge Ellen Hollander, follows a lawsuit from labor unions and retirees citing privacy and security concerns.

  5. The ACLU filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court to block the Trump administration from deporting Venezuelan nationals in Texas under the rarely used Alien Enemies Act. The Court has previously ruled that those targeted under the 1798 law must receive a hearing before deportation.

  6. Investigative journalist Laura Loomer revealed that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent invited outspoken Trump critic John Hope Bryant to work with him at the Treasury. Bryant had publicly praised ex-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for banning Trump’s account.

  7. At a school board meeting in Chino Valley, California, pro-trans protesters chanted “Hail Satan!” during a heated debate over transgender athletes in girls' sports.

In Other News…

  1. Tallahassee police revealed that the gunman in the FSU shooting, 20-year-old political science major Phoenix Ikner, is the son of a longtime Leon County Sheriff’s deputy. The handgun used to kill two and injure five belonged to his stepmother, Deputy Jessica Ikner. More details…
