Today’s Big Story…

President Trump said he won’t make a deal with China until the $1 trillion trade deficit is addressed.

Speaking aboard Air Force One, he emphasized China’s trade imbalance far exceeds that of other countries: "We have a $1 trillion trade deficit with China. Hundreds of billions of dollars a year we lose to China, and unless we solve that problem, I’m not going to make a deal. I’m willing to make a deal with China, but they have to solve this surplus. We have a tremendous deficit problem with China… I want that solved."

Trump said U.S. tariffs have led to $7 trillion in committed investments in auto, chip, and other industries—"at levels we’ve never seen." He added that while leaders in Europe and Asia are eager to make trade deals, he won’t agree to any until trade deficits are resolved.

"A deficit is a loss," Trump told reporters. "We’re going to have surpluses, or we’re, at worst, going to be breaking even. But China would be the worst in the group because the deficit is so big, and it’s not sustainable; I was elected on this.”

Another Big Story…

U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer is admitting he understands President Trump’s tariff strategy, calling it part of a new economic era and the official end of globalization.

The remarks follow Trump’s announcement of global tariffs, including a 10% levy on U.K. goods. According to the Sunday Times, Starmer is against the tariffs but acknowledges why Trump’s approach appeals to voters. In his written statement, he also acknowledges how free trade and mass migration have failed millions.

"The world has changed, globalization is over and we are now in a new era," the prime minister’s office told the Sunday Times. "We’ve got to demonstrate that our approach, a more active Labour government, a more reformist government, can provide the answers for people in every part of this country… Trump has done something that we don’t agree with, but there’s a reason why people are behind him on this."

My Thoughts…

The push for globalization needs to come to an end. It has never worked in human history before to the capacity leftists like George Soros, Klaus Schwab, and even Barack Obama have advocated. It’s a failed experiment, and the tariff strategy proves such. Now, the UK and the rest of Europe need to hold Starmer and their leaders accountable for the mass migration problem posing long-lasting danger to their continent.

Let’s hope Trump keeps the tariffs tough and locked in. Unfortunately, he will have to face interference from the likes of Sen. Rand Paul, who is trying to derail the Liberation Day strategy.

The Administration…

  • White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said that Trump’s tariff strategy—starting at 10% and rising to 50%—is working, with over 50 countries reaching out to begin trade negotiations.

  • The Supreme Court sided with the Trump administration in a 5-4 ruling, allowing it to end $65 million in teacher training grants deemed to violate its anti-DEI policy. The decision overturns a lower court ruling and marks Trump’s first Supreme Court victory of his second term.

  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the U.S. will immediately revoke and stop issuing visas to South Sudanese passport holders. The move comes in response to South Sudan’s failure to accept repatriated citizens following the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.

  • Elon Musk says he hopes the U.S. and Europe can strengthen economic ties and eliminate tariffs. In a video interview with Italian Deputy PM Matteo Salvini, Musk said he’s urged Trump to improve relations with Europe.

  • FBI Director Kash Patel is targeting Chinese land ownership in the U.S., especially near sensitive sites, citing threats to food supply and national security. The move aligns with Trump’s second-term agenda and has growing support from Republicans concerned about CCP-linked farmland.

  • Left-wing filmmaker Oliver Stone criticized Democrats for weaponizing federal law enforcement and “lying” about Russian collusion in 2016. He praised Trump for seeking the truth, saying the president is “absolutely” right that the government has been weaponized against political rivals.

  • A spring tradition continued as First Lady Melania Trump welcomed visitors to view the blooming White House gardens. Despite cloudy skies and a chance of showers, crowds lined up early Sunday to tour the South Lawn.

  • Randi Mahomes, mother of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, visited the White House over the weekend and shared a photo with her daughter Mia on Instagram, calling the experience a “priceless visit.”

  • A legal battle is brewing over the massive American flags flown outside Camping World locations. CEO Marcus Lemonis, a Trump supporter, said the flags “are not coming down,” despite lawsuits from multiple cities threatening fines and even jail. The RV dealer operates over 200 stores nationwide.

Vice President…

JD Vance, his wife Usha, and their children will visit India later this month for a family “heritage tour,” reflecting the Second Lady’s South Indian roots. The trip coincides with a planned visit by U.S. National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.

Congress…

A new poll from Data for Progress shows Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez leading Chuck Schumer by double digits in the 2028 New York Democratic primary, with 55% support to Schumer’s 36%. The results reflect growing dissatisfaction with Schumer after his vote to advance a GOP funding bill.

Speaker Mike Johnson has reached a deal with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna to allow new parents to vote by proxy through a formal “vote pairing” system. The agreement aims to end the GOP-led standoff that had stalled House proceedings.

President Trump said he met with former New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu and hopes he runs for Senate.

NBC's Kristen Welker pressed Sen. Adam Schiff about whether Biden’s aides misled the public about his mental fitness, citing a book where ex–Chief of Staff Ron Klain described Biden as "fatigued, befuddled, and disengaged" during debate prep. Schiff said he couldn’t judge what advisers saw.

The Resistance…

  1. Over the weekend, thousands rallied in D.C. for nationwide protests against spending cuts by Elon Musk’s DOGE and Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs. One speaker urged the crowd to make both men “afraid.” The protest near the Washington Monument led the White House to postpone garden tours.

  2. An Iranian state-run newspaper linked to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is calling for the targeted assassination of Trump.

  3. The New York State Education Department is refusing to end DEI practices, defying the Trump administration’s directive. In a letter Friday, NYSED counsel Daniel Morton-Bentley said no state or federal laws ban DEI and accused the administration of trying to "censor" such principles.

  4. Doug Emhoff, husband of former Vice President Kamala Harris, criticized his law firm, Willkie Farr & Gallagher, for making a deal with the Trump administration to avoid an executive order. Emhoff voiced his disapproval during a charity gala in Los Angeles.

  5. Jonathan Braun, a convicted drug dealer freed by President Trump, was sent back to jail after multiple recent arrests, including charges of injuring a child and groping his nanny. He violated his supervised release with a series of violent incidents.

  6. Comedian Amber Ruffin claimed the White House Correspondents’ Association canceled her performance at its annual dinner after she criticized the Trump administration.

  7. Two U.S. border officers in Southern California have been charged with taking bribes to let people enter the country without documents at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Prosecutors say investigators uncovered messages with human traffickers and suspicious cash deposits in their accounts.

  8. A pregnant woman was injured when a two-pound rock smashed through the windshield of a Tesla in Vancouver, Canada. Authorities are investigating whether the rock was intentionally thrown.

Although we deliver you domestic and international news later this afternoon via the DML REPORT newsletter, here are a few worth mentioning now:
