Today’s Big Story…

Elon Musk says he’s determined to uncover how some members of Congress became “strangely wealthy” on modest government salaries.

At a Wisconsin town hall, Musk said DOGE will investigate lawmakers’ unexplained wealth. One attendee asked if DOGE had found any USAID funds linked to Reps. Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff, or Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

“They’ll [the government] send the money overseas to one NGO [non-governmental organization], then they’ll go through a bunch of them, and then I’m highly confident that a bunch of that money then comes back to the United States and lands in the pockets of the people you just mentioned,” Musk replied. “But it is a circuitous route. It doesn’t go directly, but let’s just say that there’s a lot of strangely wealthy members of Congress where I’m trying to connect the dots of, ‘How do they become rich?’ How did they get $20 million by only earning $200,000 per year? Nobody can explain that.

This comes after Musk also revealed DOGE uncovered roughly 2.1 million “non-citizens” receiving social security numbers in 2024.

Another Big Story…

Following his return from Japan, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the military to adopt equal combat standards for men and women, citing a decline in standards under the Biden administration.

In his memo, Hegseth clarified that military requirements will not be determined by gender but by qualifications needed for each role.

“For far too long, we allowed standards to slip, and different standards for men and women in combat arms MOS’s and jobs. That’s not acceptable,” Hegseth said. “We need to have the same standards – male or female – in our combat roles to ensure our men and women who are under our leaders and in those formations have the best possible leaders and the highest possible standards that are not based at all on your sex.”

Additionally, Hegseth wrote on X how former President Obama diluted the standards for combat roles by opening up positions to men and women and consequently lowering the standards for service to accommodate gender neutrality.

My Thoughts…

Nothing would make the American taxpayer happier than placing an accountability spotlight over the politicians who have become multimillionaires through mysterious means. Stock trading is one thing (which should be more upfront and transparent), but it’s clear that the likes of Schumer and Nancy Pelosi are also accumulating cash flow through more ‘unconventional’ means. Excited to see what DOGE uncovers.

Glad to see Hegseth is trying to make the military a league of higher standards. Men and women should be respected for their service, but the standards for combat roles shouldn’t be altered or lowered so that those who are unqualified physically are let in with ease. These are serious and physically demanding positions for a reason. It’s time to undo Obama’s damage.

The Administration…

  • President Trump signed an executive order creating the “United States Investment Accelerator” to boost billion-dollar investments in the U.S. The new Commerce Department office aims to build on the trillions already invested under his administration.

  • Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino, who left a top podcasting career to join the Trump administration, affirmed on Sunday that he and Director Kash Patel are serious about their work. Responding to critics frustrated by the FBI’s pace, Bongino assured that results are coming.

  • The U.S. has deported 17 violent, illegal alien criminals to El Salvador, where they’ll be held in President Bukele’s mega-prison. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the transfer—targeting MS-13 and Tren de Aragua members—a successful counter-terrorism operation.

  • DHS Secretary Kristi Noem defended the deportation of individuals to El Salvador, saying she’s confident they’re the correct targets despite legal concerns over possible misidentifications.

  • At singer Kid Rock’s urging, President Trump signed an executive order targeting ticket scalping. The order directs the FTC and attorney general to enforce competition laws and strengthen the BOTS Act through state consumer protection efforts.

  • The Trump administration’s Treasury Department announced new sanctions targeting the Sinaloa Cartel’s funding following its recent designation as a foreign terrorist organization.

  • EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced the closure of the Biden-era National Environmental Museum near the White House, citing low attendance and high taxpayer costs since its 2024 opening.

  • Finland President Alexander Stubb said in an interview with Fox Business, “President Trump is probably the only person in the world who can mediate peace between Ukraine and Russia. Why? Because Putin respects and in many ways fears Donald Trump.”

  • After nine months aboard the ISS, veteran astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams returned to Earth and spoke with Bill Hemmer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. They reflected on their extended mission, the future of space exploration, and their appreciation for Elon Musk and President Trump.

Vice President…

JD Vance hosted his first RNC fundraiser as vice president in New York City last night, signaling efforts to expand his donor base ahead of a possible 2028 presidential run. This comes after Vance was tapped to serve as RNC finance chair, a perch that will entice him to the party's biggest donors.

Congress…

Sen. Ron Johnson is urging Wisconsin’s 1.7 million Trump voters to turn out for the Supreme Court race today and to vote for Brad Schimel.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) took to the Senate floor last night to speak as long as he could to protest the actions taken by President Trump’s administration. Booker began speaking at 7 p.m.

Sen. Lindsey Graham dodged a question from reporters about Trump seeking a third term, saying only, “Ask me in ’27,” before walking off.

Sen. Chuck Grassley introduced a bill to limit judicial rulings to only the parties involved, part of a broader GOP push to rein in the judiciary.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced she’s leaving the House Freedom Caucus after clashing with GOP hardliners over her push for proxy voting for new parents. She said respect within the group was “shattered” after some conservatives blocked her effort.

The Resistance…

  1. In Wisconsin’s State Supreme Court race today, Republican Brad Schimel faces Democrat Susan Crawford. A Democratic win would maintain their court majority, enabling a plan to redraw legislative maps and potentially flip two U.S. House seats—threatening GOP control of the House and Trump’s agenda.

  2. Iran says it has prepared a “significant number” of advanced missiles capable of striking U.S. bases in the Middle East. According to the state-run Tehran Times, the missiles are housed in fortified underground sites across Iran.

  3. Columbia students and grads protested over the weekend against the university’s compliance with Trump administration demands to fight antisemitism and the arrest of pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil. Some SIPA grads even shredded their diplomas in protest.

  4. Despite Mark Zuckerberg’s recent claims of embracing free speech, Meta’s policies still favor censorship, especially on topics like vaccines and election integrity. His January 2025 policy shift announcement appears more symbolic than substantive, with left-leaning guidelines still in place.

  5. OpenAI execs Sam Altman and Chris Lehane have offered conflicting views on China, with Altman open to collaboration and Lehane stressing the need to win the AI race. Their split comes as the Trump administration remains highly focused on outpacing China in AI.

  6. Lia Thomas, the transgender UPenn swimmer, says he's "devastated" by a new ban on transgender athletes in international swimming.

  7. A 70-year-old man has been arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly hitting an Elon Musk supporter with his car during an anti-Tesla protest outside a dealership.

In Other News…

  1. A Paris court has dealt a major blow to Marine Le Pen’s 2027 presidential hopes, sentencing her to a non-custodial prison term and banning her from elections for five years. The ruling immediately disqualifies the far-right leader from running to succeed French President Macron.

  2. Virginia Giuffre, the most prominent Jeffrey Epstein victim, says she has only days to live after a bus crash left her with kidney failure. The mother of three, who was trafficked by Epstein as a teen, shared a hospital photo showing her bruised and battered. The timing of the crash remains unclear.

  3. A British toddler, around age 3 or 4, was expelled from a nursery for alleged transphobia. While the school remains unnamed, the UK’s Department for Education noted that 94 students were suspended or expelled for similar reasons in 2022–23. Read more…

  4. A mob vandalized three police cars during a chaotic car meet-up in Queens, NY, smashing windows and jumping on vehicles. The mayhem unfolded around 1 a.m., and shocking footage shows vandals surrounding an unmarked car, with one person smashing a traffic cone into the windshield before others joined in. More details…

Your Opinions & Questions…

Purcott: “Hope the spring breakers not knowing common knowledge are embarrassed. Shame on America’s education failures. Gotta get moving and involved right away to change that.

47 Report: Hopefully, with the dismantling of the Department of Education, there can be a nationwide prioritization of elevating education in America. How great would it be in a few years if the U.S. was #1 in education worldwide, rather than Singapore? It’s possible, and the country owes it to the younger generation educationally impacted by the COVID lockdown era.
