Today’s Big Story…

President Donald Trump signed a sweeping and detailed executive order designed to bolster election integrity throughout the United States.

The order introduces a series of robust measures aimed at safeguarding the nation’s voting systems. Among its key provisions, the executive order mandates proof of U.S. citizenship as a prerequisite for voter registration in ALL federal elections. This requirement addresses concerns about ineligible noncitizens and illegal aliens voting by ensuring that only verified citizens can register and cast ballots. To enforce this, the order leverages Department of Homeland Security data to cross-check voter rolls and prevent non-citizen voting.

The EO also links federal election funding to state compliance with its election integrity standards, including citizenship verification and voter roll maintenance. Non-compliant states risk losing essential financial support for election infrastructure. It also cracks down on forms of election misconduct, enhancing mechanisms to investigate and prosecute crimes like voter fraud and ballot tampering with mail-in votes.

Another Big Story…

At a White House meeting with U.S. ambassadors, President Trump revealed it was a staffer for national security adviser Mike Waltz who accidentally added the leftist journalist to a Signal chat discussing the Houthi airstrikes.

Trump commended Waltz as a “very good man” and praised his national security team, saying, “We have an amazing group. Our national security now is stronger than it has ever been.”

The current speculation is that the referenced staffer is Deputy National Security Advisor Alex Wong, who created the group chat and accidentally added Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic instead of Jamieson Greer, the trade representative for the Trump administration.

My Thoughts…

I firmly believe Republicans can win every election going forward if they can accomplish two big tasks: 1) follow through on the desires of the American voter, and 2) SECURE OUR ELECTIONS. Mail-in ballots, while useful this go-around to counter the Democrats’ schemes in 2024, need to be reevaluated. The purpose of the mail-in ballots was to accommodate the COVID insanity, but those days are long gone. Let’s regain integrity in our elections so we don’t have another ‘2020 Biden’ situation again.

As for the text message scandal, it continues to prove that while it likely was a mistake, it’s genuinely a nothingburger. No secret details were leaked; no sensitive material was exposed. The only revelation was the poor decision-making skills of The Atlantic’s Goldberg to publish the screenshots of the conversation — a true loser’s move.

The Administration…

  • President Trump defended national security adviser Mike Waltz after it was revealed he accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in strike discussions on the Houthis. “He’s a good man who learned a lesson,” Trump told NBC, adding the mistake had “no impact” on the March 15 airstrikes.

  • President Trump signed an executive order to modernize Treasury payment systems by shifting to electronic payments, centralizing systems, using a Do Not Pay list, and boosting fraud detection.

  • Trump also ordered the declassification of all FBI files related to the 'Crossfire Hurricane' probe into 2016 election interference.

  • Trump’s USCIS is pausing certain green card applications to enhance vetting, affecting hundreds of thousands of refugees brought in under President Biden, including some Afghanis.

  • The White House revealed that Russia and Ukraine agreed to a Black Sea ceasefire and a ban on attacks on each other’s energy facilities following separate U.S.-brokered talks in Riyadh. Both sides also committed to safe navigation and banning the use of commercial ships for military purposes.

  • Social Security is deleting millions of records showing people aged 120+ after Elon Musk flagged the issue. DOGE says 7 million have been marked deceased, with 5 million more to go.

  • Trump nominated Susan Monarez to become the next CDC director

  • President Trump pardoned Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, who was convicted of defrauding a Native American tribe. Archer has been a key GOP informant regarding Joe Biden’s foreign business ties.

  • President Trump has ended Secret Service protection for former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, cutting short the six-month extension granted by Joe Biden.

  • HUD Secretary Scott Turner and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced that taxpayer-funded housing for criminal illegal aliens will be terminated.

  • Former Attorney General Bill Barr defended Trump’s deportation flights, criticizing judges for overstepping by blocking the removal of Venezuelans to El Salvador.

  • Jon Kahn, a singer-songwriter and vocal Trump supporter known for his chart-topping hit "Fighter," has released a new song titled "Fingerprints" that explores his personal journey into faith amid a season of loss.

Vice President…

JD Vance will now be joining Second Lady Usha Vance to visit Greenland on Friday. The visit is officially framed as a gesture of friendship and security cooperation, and the VP revealed he will be visiting Space Force guardians on the northwest coast of the arctic island.

Congress…

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a Stanford professor known for his perspectives on public health policy during the COVID-19 pandemic, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the new Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His confirmation came with a vote of 53-47.

Top U.S. intelligence officials testified before Congress this week on national security threats—first to the Senate yesterday, and now in the House today. Testifiers include FBI Director Kash Patel, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and DNI Tulsi Gabbard.

Rep. Randy Weber, R-Texas, plans to introduce a censure resolution against Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, after she mocked Gov. Greg Abbott’s disability by calling him “Governor Hot Wheels” (Abbott has been paraplegic since age 26).

Rep. Maxine Waters joined a protest in L.A. Saturday, blasting Trump’s birthright citizenship order and bizarrely suggesting it would apply to First Lady Melania Trump, claiming she should be deported.

Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, are pushing to defund NPR and PBS. A congressional hearing is scheduled for tomorrow where public broadcasting leaders will face questioning.

Dr. Mehmet Oz moved closer to becoming head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services after the Senate Finance Committee advanced his nomination in a 14-13 party-line vote.

The Resistance…

  1. Hillary Clinton, despite her own history with classified info scandals, mocked the Trump administration over the group chat fiasco, posting on X: “You have got to be kidding me.”

  2. Maine Gov. Janet Mills has refused to apologize to Trump for her state’s resistance to his executive order banning trans athletes from girls’ sports. In her response, Mills also criticized Trump’s views on abortion and tariffs.

  3. Several European countries, including Finland, Denmark, the U.K., and Germany, have issued travel warnings for transgender travelers to the U.S. following Trump’s “two-sexes” order and immigration crackdown.

  4. Advocacy and labor groups have sued to block President Trump’s executive order to dismantle the Department of Education, calling it unconstitutional and harmful to students.

  5. Despite President Trump’s order to eliminate DEI programs, the NIH is still funding over $1.3 billion in active DEI-related grants, including race-based hiring and “anti-racist” training. At least $441 million explicitly cite DEI in their descriptions.

  6. Trump hater and "Snow White" star Rachel Zegler is being mocked online for celebrating the film’s No. 1 box office spot, despite it earning only $43 million domestically—one of Disney’s worst remake openings and far short of its $270 million budget.

In Other News…

Although we deliver you domestic and international news later this afternoon via the DML REPORT newsletter, here are a few worth mentioning now:

  1. Luigi Mangione, 26, accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson with a 3D-printed ghost gun, has requested a laptop in Brooklyn federal jail to review evidence for his trial. His lawyers say it’s standard practice, but prosecutors oppose it, citing terrorism charges, threats to witnesses, and the case’s high-profile nature.

  2. Italian researchers from the University of Pisa claim to have found a vast underground network beneath Egypt’s Khafre Pyramid using Synthetic Aperture Radar. Their study suggests eight shafts over 2,100 feet deep, plus deeper structures dating back 38,000 years—far older than known civilizations. The team believes this could be a lost underground city and ties it to ancient myths, though no excavation has confirmed the findings.

  3. Miller Gardner, the 14-year-old son of former Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner, died on March 21 while vacationing in Costa Rica, with authorities citing likely food poisoning-related asphyxiation as the cause; an autopsy and toxicology report are pending as the U.S. monitors the case.
