Today’s Big Story…

Senior Trump national security officials discussed classified airstrike plans against the Houthis over the encrypted app Signal—and accidentally included The Atlantic journalist Jeffrey Goldberg in the chat, who then leaked screenshots of the texts.

The Atlantic reported the messages contained details about weapons, targets, and timing regarding plans to strike the Houthis in Yemen. The Trump administration officials involved in the group chat include national-security adviser Mike Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Democrats are having a full-on meltdown over the incident, with many of them lambasting the Trump administration for such a disastrous leak. However, others speculate that the incident was intentional or a misdirect, primarily due to the odd choice of Goldberg’s “accidental” selection and since none of the messages revealed any specific details of the war operations.

As for President Trump, when asked about the leak, he responded: “I don’t know anything about it. I’m not a big fan of The Atlantic; it’s a magazine that’s going out of business. I think it’s not much of a magazine. You’re telling me about it for the first time.”

Another Big Story…

President Trump has faced nearly 30 nationwide injunctions just two months into his second term—more than any recent president except himself. During his first term, he saw a total of 64.

A nationwide injunction blocks a president’s policy from being enforced anywhere in the U.S. In recent weeks, federal judges—mostly appointed by Biden and Obama—have issued several such injunctions against Trump’s executive orders.

According to the Harvard Law Review, President Biden faced about 14 nationwide injunctions in his first three years. In contrast, Obama saw 12 during his presidency, and George W. Bush had just six. The review also notes that over half of all nationwide injunctions since 1963 have targeted Trump-era policies.

ALSO: President Trump held a White House Cabinet meeting with all secretaries, VP JD Vance, and DOGE leader Elon Musk. After the private session, reporters joined as Trump praised U.S. job growth from companies returning stateside and invited each secretary to share agency updates.

My Thoughts…

I have a theory; I will go out on a limb to say that the “text message link” may have been more strategic than perceived. There are too many variables that don’t align with the strategies and competencies of this administration. They’re all A-Team individuals, as shown by yesterday’s cabinet meeting. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s learned there’s more to this incident than initially unveiled.

On yesterday’s podcast, we discussed the nuisances of radical justices blocking President Trump’s agenda. It’s incredibly baffling to read that over half of all nationwide injunctions for the past 60 years are targeted at Trump’s actions.

The Administration…

  • At the Cabinet meeting, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi warned against government fraud and thanked Elon Musk for exposing “fraud, waste, and abuse” through the DOGE initiative.

  • Elon Musk revealed that DOGE found the SBA had issued over $300 million in loans to children under age 11.

  • Trump’s Cabinet announced billions in canceled contracts since he took office, including $300,000 for a “food justice” program for queer and trans farmers and $830 million for low-quality surveys.

  • DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced FEMA will be eliminated and said deportations have increased by 50% under the Trump administration.

  • President Trump announced a Secondary Tariff on Venezuela, citing its covert shipment of tens of thousands of violent criminals, including murderers, into the U.S.

  • The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to block a judge’s order requiring rehiring over 16,000 federal workers fired under Trump’s workforce reduction plan. A federal judge ruled the terminations were likely unlawful and ordered their reinstatement.

  • South Korean automotive giant Hyundai announced a $20 billion investment in the U.S., including a $5 billion steel plant in Louisiana. The project is expected to create around 1,500 jobs and produce next-generation steel for Hyundai and Kia’s electric vehicles.

  • President Trump announced that Alina Habba, his former personal attorney and current legal counsel, will serve as interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey.

  • Trump slammed Colorado Gov. Jared Polis over an unflattering portrait of him hanging in the state Capitol. He said he'd rather have no portrait than the one painted by Sarah A. Boardman in 2019, calling it so bad that “many people” have complained.

Vice President…

JD Vance opposed a military strike in Yemen during the private Signal chat with President Trump’s national security team. He expressed concerns about the timing of the proposed operation, warning of oil prices spiking as a result.

“Team, I am out for the day doing an economic event in Michigan. But I think we are making a mistake,” Vance wrote in the chat. “There is a real risk that the public doesn’t understand this or why it’s necessary. The strongest reason to do this is, as POTUS said, to send a message.”

Congress…

The House Judiciary Committee is planning a hearing next week on “activist judges,” following the dozens of injunctions against Trump policies.

The Senate voted 62–30 to confirm John Phelan the next Navy secretary, a Florida businessman who has been deemed an unconventional pick given he has no military background.

Senate Democrats urged President Trump to disclose efforts to keep TikTok online and work with Congress to prevent a ban. In a letter, Sens. Markey, Van Hollen, and Booker called for extending the April 5 deadline if no deal is reached.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, said Democrats need to ditch the “Mr. Nice Guy” approach and start to “punch” back in races against Republicans. She made the remark while reflecting on Rep. Colin Allred’s loss to Sen. Ted Cruz in Texas.

Former U.S. Rep. Mia Love of Utah, the first Black Republican woman in Congress, died Sunday at 49 after battling brain cancer. She served from 2015 to 2019.

The Resistance…

  1. Former President Joe Biden, 82, and Jill Biden made a public appearance in NYC for the Broadway opening of Othello, days after Democrats criticized his apparent bid to return to the party spotlight.

  2. In Helsinki, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy voiced concern over misinformation reaching the White House, noting Trump repeated a claim that Ukrainian troops were trapped in Russia’s Kursk region.

  3. During a tense federal appeals court hearing, Obama-appointed Judge Patricia Millett sharply challenged the Trump administration's plan to deport alleged members of Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang. She questioned a DOJ lawyer over due process concerns for the 260 aliens recently sent to a notorious El Salvador prison under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act.

  4. A Massachusetts law blocking ICE cooperation has led to the release of criminal illegal immigrants on minimal or no bail. Trump’s former border chief Tom Homan slammed state leaders, vowing deportations will still happen.

  5. As President Trump moves to end birthright citizenship, Chinese nationals are reportedly using California’s loosely regulated surrogacy industry to pay American women to carry babies, then return to China with U.S. citizen children. While legal, the practice is raising concerns.

  6. On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, The Nation’s justice correspondent Elie Mystal argued for eliminating all U.S. voter registration laws. He claimed voting should only require meeting basic eligibility, like age, and said registration has racist and anti-immigrant roots. Mystal also suggested expanding voting access would benefit Democrats.

  7. Rosie O'Donnell, now living in Ireland, continues to discuss her ongoing feud with Trump, and his recent comment about her to Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin. She said watching the clip felt "very, very surreal" and admitted she wrote Martin an apology.

In Other News…

Although we deliver you domestic and international news later this afternoon via the DML REPORT newsletter, here are a few worth mentioning now:

  1. Over the weekend, a fisherman 12 miles off Florida’s east coast near Patrick Space Force Base filmed three glowing orbs hovering over the ocean before vanishing. The U.S. Coast Guard received a report but found no aircraft or vessels, and the FAA confirmed no authorized drone activity in the restricted airspace. The incident adds to a surge in aerial sightings, including 5,000 drone reports in New Jersey since November.

  2. China’s EngineAI showcased its PM01 humanoid robot performing a world-first kick-up in a video, flipping a shuttlecock-like object into the air with its foot to demonstrate advanced balance and agility. A compact version of the SE01 model, the 4.5-foot, 88-pound PM01 features 24 degrees of freedom, a 320-degree waist rotation, and force-controlled arms. Released in December 2024 and priced at ¥88,000 (about $12,000), it’s on sale through March 31 for business and educational use.

  3. Over 1,000 bottles of Tec Italy Shampoo for dry and damaged hair have been recalled due to contamination with Klebsiella oxytoca, a potentially deadly bacterium. Manufacturer Henkel initiated the recall after the FDA found the bacteria in 1,068 units shipped from a facility in Mexico. No illnesses have been reported as of March 24, but salon customers are urged to stop using the product and contact distributors for guidance.

Your Opinions & Questions…

Sullivan: “Loved the perspective on various media entities & their changing positions! Additionally, good to know there are true journalists who believe in the old, “who, what, where, why and how”!”

47 Report: It’s rare to have journalists who follow the rules of journalistic integrity. Truthfully, a journalist like The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg leaking the details of an accidental inclusion into the private chat is abhorrent. True integrity would be to admit the accidental inclusion to the administrators and refrain from trying to get a premature “clickbait” story. That’s why the alternative media is more critical than ever before!
