Day 61. Trump's mighty pen goes wild
Today’s Big Story…
President Trump signed an executive order to begin dismantling the US Department of Education, advancing a long-standing conservative goal of having education matters be left up to the states and not dictated by the federal government.
The White House stated the agency would still manage key functions like student loans. Education Secretary Linda McMahon stated that dismantling the department “certainly has some hurdles,” given it would require an act of Congress. However, she emphasized her goal of working with them as “a partner.” She said funding education to individual states to give directly to parents or students is worth exploring.
In response to criticism from American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten—who claimed on CNN that the administration may redirect funds from public schools to private ones—McMahon insisted they are not taking education away from children and that it’s another misguided leftist talking point.
Another Big Story…
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that three people face federal charges for allegedly attacking Tesla properties with Molotov cocktails in three states. She called the charges a “warning” as violent protests target Tesla nationwide, fueled by opposition to Elon Musk’s support for federal budget cuts under President Trump.
One defendant, armed with a suppressed AR-15, was arrested after throwing about eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership in Salem, Oregon. Another was caught in Loveland, Colorado, while attempting to ignite Teslas with Molotovs and was later found with materials to make more incendiary devices. In Charleston, South Carolina, a third suspect vandalized Tesla charging stations with anti-Trump messages before setting them on fire using Molotov cocktails.
Each defendant faces severe charges with a minimum penalty of five years and up to 20 years in prison. Additionally, more cases of vandalism against Tesla vehicles are sprouting, such as criminals keying and knifing the electric cars.
My Thoughts…
With a Republican majority in Congress, the dismantling of the department should be a breeze for as long as there are no RINO shenanigans. As for the Tesla crisis, what’s happening across the country to innocent Americans who own these cars is sickening. When conservatives aren’t happy with a brand, they don’t buy the product. Example —Bud Light beer. But what the left is doing is domestic terrorism (see Resistance section below).

The Administration…
President Trump and Defense Secretary Hegseth confirmed Elon Musk will visit the Pentagon today but denied claims he'll be briefed on top-secret China war plans. They said the visit is informal, focused on innovation and efficiency, and called the China rumors false.
Hegseth eliminated over $580 million in wasteful spending at the Defense Department. Cuts included a software project running six years late and 780% over budget, plus $360 million in grants tied to DEI and related social programs.
George Glezmann, a 65-year-old Georgia man held by the Taliban since December 2022, is returning to the U.S. after Trump’s envoy Adam Boehler and Qatari officials secured his release.
The Trump administration is working to reinstate thousands of probationary federal workers fired during its downsizing efforts after a court ruled the terminations unlawful.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the DOJ has arrested three of the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” since January 20, 2025.
The FBI has issued a wanted poster for Chinese national Baoxia “Emily” Liu, with the State Department offering up to $15 million for information on her and others smuggling U.S. drone tech to Iran. Liu and three other Chinese nationals were charged for allegedly running a years-long operation exporting restricted U.S. items through China and Hong Kong to entities tied to Iran.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald claimed newly released JFK assassination files support the Trump theory — the existence of a Deep State.
The president of the Democratic Republic of Congo has offered President Trump a minerals deal in exchange for a U.S. security agreement to help remove violent rebels. Congo, home to over $20 trillion in minerals, including gold, copper, and the world’s largest cobalt supply, is seeking U.S. support to stabilize the conflict-ridden nation.
Canadian furniture maker Prepac is shifting all production to its North Carolina plant in response to tariffs on Canadian goods from Trump.
The USDA announced that the University of Maine System is now in full compliance with Trump’s executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s sports. Funding had been briefly paused amid a dispute over the policy but was reinstated after UMS agreed to comply.
Trump accused District Court Judge James Boasberg of trying to 'usurp the power of the presidency' while demanding the Supreme Court take action amid a high-stakes legal standoff.
Vice President…
In a podcast interview, JD Vance took a jab at former VP Kamala Harris, implying her “word salads” stem from drinking habits, claiming, “I don’t have four shots of vodka before every meeting.”
Congress…
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called Trump’s move to dismantle the Department of Education “one of his most destructive actions,” warning it will harm kids, parents, and raise property taxes. Sen. Elizabeth Warren labeled it a “code red” for public schools, saying students and teachers will “pay a heavy price.”
Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana, known for his sharp wit, delivered another zinger during a Fox News interview. Discussing Schumer’s reversal on blocking a GOP spending bill, Kennedy joked: “Chuck’s often wrong. He never makes the same mistake twice, he makes it five or six times just to be sure.”
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said her birthday wish is for Elon Musk to be “taken down.” Crockett is a member of the activist group “Tesla Takedown,” which has announced a “Global Day of Action” for Saturday, March 29, urging protests at 500 Tesla dealerships worldwide.
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) is staying silent on reports of a romantic relationship with Tara McGowan, a former Democratic operative and founder of Courier Newsroom—a progressive media outlet funded by donors including George Soros. Murphy recently separated from his wife of two decades.
AOC and Bernie Sanders have launched their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, targeting President Trump, Elon Musk, and Republicans. Thousands are attending their rallies, with events in Las Vegas and Phoenix yesterday.
The Resistance…
One of the main speakers on the “Tesla Takedown” livestream was Boston University professor Joan Donovan, a self-described expert on memes and disinformation with ties to George Soros-funded initiatives. Donovan, a vocal leftist, accused Elon Musk of being a black hat hacker.
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel appeared to mock the recent arson and vandalism targeting Tesla, sarcastically saying, “Poor guy,” about Elon Musk. He also referenced the debunked Nazi salute hoax, joking, “You do one, maybe two, Nazi salutes, and everyone gets bent out of shape.”
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg claimed the Trump administration missed a court deadline to disclose details on deportation flights to El Salvador, intensifying its legal clash with the judiciary. He criticized government lawyers for failing to provide information on flights involving individuals targeted under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act and whether they knowingly defied his order.
Willie Frank Peterson, whose sentence was commuted by President Biden in January, is back in jail after being arrested in Alabama on multiple drug charges. Sentenced initially in 2023 to over six years for cocaine distribution, Peterson was released early under Biden’s clemency. He now faces charges of unlawful possession of controlled substances and marijuana.
In late February, staffers for prominent House Democrats attended an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City, sponsored by the left-leaning Progressive Policy Institute, to receive strategic communications advice. The trip included meetings with representatives from Fox News and the Wall Street Journal—both owned by Rupert Murdoch and known for their strained ties with Trump.
California activists are warning Illinois families about a proposed law, HB2827, that would impose regulations and penalties on homeschooling. The bill would require parents to file a “homeschool declaration form” with their public school or face misdemeanor truancy charges, including up to 30 days in jail and fines.
FEMA has received 270,000 applications for aid following the recent L.A. fires, despite only about 13,000 homes being destroyed—a ratio raising major fraud concerns. Over two months after the disaster, officials say fake claims continue to flood the system. Many legitimate applicants have reported being locked out after fraudsters used their names and addresses.
A new DNI report reveals Chinese President Xi Jinping has amassed over $1 billion in assets through relatives, proving widespread corruption within the Chinese Communist Party. The report estimates that 65% of officials receive illicit income.
