The Big Beautiful Bill

Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill: Senate Surge, Dems Stall, and What America Thinks

Senate Pushes BBB Forward: Late Saturday night, the Republican led Senate cleared the first vote (51–49) for President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a bold step toward his America First agenda. Republicans are racing to meet Trump’s July 4 deadline, but Democrats, led by Chuck Schumer, are stalling—reading the entire 1,000-page bill aloud to delay progress. This tactic reeks of desperation as they cling to Biden-era policies.

Elon Musk’s Take: As the Senate was voting, Elon Musk, once Trump’s ally, slammed the BBB on X, calling it a “disgusting abomination” that’s “pork-filled” and will balloon the deficit by $2.4 trillion over a decade. He claimed it was rushed through without transparency, undermining his DOGE cost-cutting legacy. Musk even suggested Trump owes his election to him, escalating their feud.

American Sentiment: This is one of those times when it is really hard to ascertain which way people are leaning. Personally, there are parts of the bill I like, for example: the tax cuts. Then there are parts that scare me, like zero regulations of AI development in states.

I asked my readers on Facebook what they thought, and most were in support of the BBB simply because Trump like it. Overall, browsing the web and social media, there seems to be a great argument for the bill, and equally against it. Below is a list of what I find to be most promising and concerning to people:

10 Things People LOVE About the BBB:
1. Massive tax cuts ($3.8T) for families and businesses.
2. Extends Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, preventing a 68% tax hike.
3. Boosts military funding for national security.
4. Strengthens immigration enforcement.
5. Increases state/local tax deductions to $40,000.
6. Promotes economic growth, per GOP claims.
7. Cuts wasteful “woke” programs.
8. Supports MAGA mandate from 2024 voters.
9. Streamlines government bureaucracy.
10. Delivers on Trump’s America First promises.

10 Things People HATE About the BBB:
1. Adds $2.4T–$5T to national debt (CBO estimate).
2. Slashes $1.3T from Medicaid and food aid.
3. Eliminates EV and clean energy credits.
4. Hurts industries of the future, per Musk.
5. Risks 10.9M losing health insurance.
6. Raises debt ceiling by $5T.
7. Cuts education and nutrition programs.
8. Favors wealthy with tax breaks.
9. Rushed through without full review.
10. Sparks GOP infighting, threatening unity.

Final Word: The BBB has a lot of challenges going forward, Trump will have to work his magic to get it through both the House and Senate before July 4. What is your opinion? Share your opinion by using the rating system below, once you click a star you’ll be prompted to leave me a comment.
