Today’s Big Story…
President Trump floated the idea of regime change in Iran, just hours after Vice President JD Vance and other officials claimed the U.S. was only targeting Iran’s nuclear program, not seeking to overthrow its government.
“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In a series of posts, President Trump announced that the B-2 bombers used in the Iran strike had “just landed, safely, in Missouri,” praising “a job well done” and claiming the attacks caused “monumental” damage. The U.S. launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—in a major escalation of the Israel-Iran conflict.
Dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer, the mission involved over 125 U.S. aircraft, including seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers that dropped 14 GBU-57 "bunker buster" bombs on Fordow and Natanz. Meanwhile, Navy submarines fired more than 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Isfahan. The targeted sites include Fordow, a fortified uranium enrichment facility near Qom; Natanz, Iran’s primary enrichment center; and Isfahan, home to vital uranium conversion operations.
Additionally, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is close to achieving its objectives in Iran and vowed to avoid a prolonged “war of attrition,” but emphasized the campaign would continue until all goals are met.

Another Big Story…
President Trump reiterated his intent to protect farmers from the impact of his illegal immigration crackdown, just days after his administration resumed workplace raids on agricultural sites—sending mixed signals on the issue.
"We're looking at doing something where, in the case of good, reputable farmers, they can take responsibility for the people that they hire and let them have responsibility, because we can't put the farms out of business," Trump told reporters on his way to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. "And at the same time we don't want to hurt people that aren't criminals."
Under Trump, ICE has carried out widespread raids detaining illegal aliens. On June 12, Trump vowed to protect illegal workers in farming, hospitality, and meatpacking, prompting a pause in raids on those industries. However, the administration reversed course days later and resumed enforcement.
However, his latest comments this weekend pinpoint that he may likely reverse the enforcement and initiate the pause again: “You have people that have worked on farms for 20 years. It’s very hard to go in there and say 'you’re coming out.' But we’re going to let the farmers take responsibility, they’re great people, they’ll do it. They know the good and the bad. I never want to hurt our farmers... they keep us happy and healthy and fat.”

The Administration…
After ordering the strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, President Trump warned Iran against retaliation, calling it the “bully of the Middle East.” He urged Iran to choose peace or face “far greater” attacks.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declared “deterrence is back” after the U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, warning adversaries to take Trump seriously. He said Iran is paying the price for ignoring Trump’s earlier 60-day ultimatum.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog called Trump’s approval of Operation Midnight Hammer a “historic decision” that could reshape the Middle East for the better. He denied claims that Israel is pressuring the U.S. to deepen its military role in the conflict with Iran.
Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Marco Rubio pushed back on CBS’s Margaret Brennan when asked if the U.S. lacked intel proving Iran's supreme leader ordered nuclear weaponization, defending Trump’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites. He argued Iran already has everything needed to build a bomb—60% enriched uranium, deep underground facilities, and a space program likely aimed at developing ICBMs, not moon missions.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott praised Trump’s “decisive action” on Iran and declared, “Texas stands with America’s Commander-in-Chief.” He ordered the National Guard and state troopers to increase patrols at high-risk sites, urging vigilance after the U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Authorities in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Washington are also on high alert following U.S. airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, despite past criticism of Trump, praised him for authorizing U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, thanking him for his leadership in the Israel-Iran conflict.
President Trump announced that he had played a role in brokering a peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.
President Trump also lashed out at The Five co-host Jessica Tarlov, a frequent critic and the show's lone Democrat. It's unclear which segment triggered his response.
Federal agencies have arrested over 700 people in connection with riots opposing the enforcement of immigration laws, according to FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino.
Border Czar Tom Homan warned that Biden-era border “gotaways” pose the “biggest national security vulnerability” in U.S. history. Homan said officials lack a full account of illegal border crossers from Iran, raising concerns about sleeper cells.
The U.S. collected $37.8 billion in import duties over April and May as Trump’s tariffs took effect, with revenue jumping from $15.6 billion in April to $22.2 billion in May—a 42% increase, Treasury data shows.
Vice President…
JD Vance said the U.S. is targeting Iran’s nuclear weapons program—not the country itself—and stopped short of confirming that all nuclear sites were fully destroyed. On NBC’s Meet the Press, Kristen Welker pressed Vance on whether the strikes totally vanquished Iran’s nuclear development capabilities.
Vance responded: “I’m not going to get into sensitive intelligence about what we’ve seen on the ground there in Iran, but we’ve seen a lot, and I feel very confident that we’ve substantially delayed their development of a nuclear weapon, and that was the goal of this attack.”
Congress…
THE HOUSE
•House Speaker Mike Johnson praised Trump’s decision to strike Iran’s nuclear sites in two released statements, while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued a sharp rebuke, highlighting the divide over the U.S. action.
•Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) slammed Trump’s strike on Iran as “impulsive” and unconstitutional, calling it a violation of congressional war powers and grounds for impeachment.
•Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) publicly opposed President Trump’s decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, stating in a post, “This is not Constitutional.”
•Massie has become the target of President Trump's team’s first effort to unseat a Republican. The new super PAC, Kentucky MAGA, will be run by top Trump advisers Tony Fabrizio and Chris LaCivita, who said the group will spend “whatever it takes” to defeat Massie in the May 2026 primary.
•Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) performed a protest version of Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe,” casting Trump as a gun-toting threat to democracy. In the online clip, he joked, “I hate to hurt your ears and everything” before starting.
•Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) and Real Time host Bill Maher slammed Whoopi Goldberg and The View after she compared life for Black Americans to that of women under Iran’s theocratic regime. Maher urged Democrats to “do something about The View” in response to the remark.
•Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her husband Paul saw their net worth climb to as much as $413 million in 2024, up from $370 million in 2023, according to new financial disclosures. Pelosi reportedly earned between $7.8 million and $42.5 million this year.
THE SENATE
•Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), a vocal supporter of Israel, broke from many in his party by praising President Trump on social media for ordering U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
•Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) said that President Trump informed Congress of the strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites “well within” the 48-hour timeframe required by the War Powers Resolution.
•Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) criticized Vice President Vance for misnaming him as “Jose” during a Los Angeles press conference. Vance stated Padilla was removed from a DHS event to create “theater” amid unrest over ICE raids.
•Congressional Republicans' budget plan could strip nearly 8 million people of Medicaid coverage and another 2 million from Affordable Care Act plans if tax subsidies expire, according to the CBO. A projected drop in healthcare access may also cost up to 500,000 healthcare jobs over the next decade.
The Resistance…
Fearing assassination, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei now communicates with commanders only through a trusted aide, avoiding electronic channels to stay hidden. From his bunker, Khamenei has also selected backups for key military roles in case more top aides are killed.
Iran’s U.N. Ambassador Amir-Saeid Iravani condemned the U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, telling the Security Council that they reflect a continued pattern of interfering in sovereign nations.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned that several countries are prepared to supply Iran with nuclear warheads following U.S. strikes on its nuclear sites. Medvedev said nuclear enrichment and future weapons production “will continue,” though he did not name which countries might aid Iran.
A DHS bulletin warned that Iran-linked cyber actors are likely to target Israeli systems in the short term but may also strike U.S. networks over perceived support for Israeli attacks. According to the Center for Internet Security, Iranian cyberattacks have already breached U.S. water and wastewater systems.
Thousands of leftist protesters marched in The Hague, denouncing the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites and the upcoming NATO summit. Chanting slogans like “F*ck NATO” and “Donald Trump is a terrorist,” demonstrators rallied at the Peace Palace in opposition to the bombings.
Assassination suspect Vance Boelter wrote a letter blaming Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for his deadly rampage against Minnesota Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, claiming Walz told him to kill Sen. Amy Klobuchar so he could run for her Senate seat.
Recent arrests of Chinese nationals at the University of Michigan have reignited concerns over CCP-linked property and farmland ownership in the U.S. Two individuals were charged with smuggling a “dangerous biological pathogen” into the country, and a third with university ties was later arrested—raising alarms about Chinese infiltration and influence across key U.S. sectors.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly considering a run for California governor. Sources claim she hasn’t made a final decision, but is expected to decide by a self-imposed deadline at the end of summer.
The View co-host Ana Navarro urged former President Obama to publicly condemn Trump, calling his second term “an American nightmare.” While co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines defended Obama’s low profile, Navarro insisted he should speak out against the Trump administration.
