Today’s Big Story…

President Trump confirmed he had been informed in advance that Israel would carry out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He emphasized that there were no surprises but made clear that the United States was not involved militarily.

"Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb," Trump said, adding, "We are hoping to get back to the negotiating table. We’ll see."

President Trump has spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu multiple times in recent days. According to senior officials, the administration notified at least one key Middle Eastern ally that the strikes were imminent, stressing that while the U.S. had foreknowledge, it was not a participant in the strikes. The broader goal, Trump said, remains a return to diplomacy with Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu justified the strikes, citing intelligence that Iran had enriched enough uranium for nine nuclear bombs and was taking unprecedented steps toward weaponization.

In a statement posted on social media early Friday morning, President Trump warned Iran against retaliation and that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) remains on high alert. In his statement, President Trump criticized Iran's failure to reach a deal despite multiple opportunities, saying, “I gave Iran chance after chance… They just couldn’t get it done.”

He issued a stark message to Iran’s leadership: “There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. God Bless You All!

Another Big Story…

The U.S. military confirmed that Marines temporarily detained a civilian outside the Wilshire Federal Building in Los Angeles, marking the first known apprehension by active-duty troops deployed under President Trump’s directive.

The incident occurred earlier in the day when Marines assumed control of security for the building amid ongoing protests over immigration raids. The Marines restrained the individual using zip ties before transferring him to personnel from the Department of Homeland Security. A spokesperson for U.S. Northern Command acknowledged the event, stating that active-duty troops “may temporarily detain an individual in specific circumstances,” but emphasized that any detention “ends immediately when the individual(s) can be safely transferred to appropriate civilian law enforcement.”

The detained individual, 27-year-old Marcos Leao, later spoke to reporters and identified himself as an Army veteran. He claimed he was heading to a nearby Department of Veterans Affairs office when he crossed a taped-off perimeter and was told to stop when he was detained.

  3. Iran warned that the U.S. will be held fully accountable for Israel’s overnight strikes on Tehran, which targeted nuclear and military sites and killed several top officials. In a letter to the U.N., Iran condemned the attacks as a threat to global security, while Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh had earlier threatened U.S. bases in the region if Israel struck again.

  4. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) warned on social media that Iran poses a global threat, not just to Israel. Sharing a map of countries within Iran’s missile range, they also released a video showing Iranian leaders threatening both Israel and the U.S.

  5. Iran claims—without evidence—that it shot down two Israeli fighter jets and captured a female pilot amid its retaliatory attack on Israel. Israel has denied that the jets were downed.

  10. Liberal host Jon Stewart slammed ABC on his podcast, calling the network “a f‑king joke” and its decision to fire reporter Terry Moran “so stupid.” He accused ABC of fake neutrality and claimed Moran was let go to safeguard the network’s relationship with the Trump administration.
