Day 134
Strange announcements & theories raise some eyebrows
Today’s Big Story…
The Trump administration is quietly working with data firm Palantir, founded by Vice President JD Vance’s former mentor Peter Thiel, to carry out an executive order directing federal agencies to share massive data collection.
Critics fear this could lead to a mass surveillance database on Americans, as the government has provided few details since the order was issued. Palantir has received over $113 million in federal funds since Trump took office, with that total set to rise after securing a new $795 million Defense Department contract last week. The company is also in discussions with various agencies, including the IRS and the Social Security Administration. Its Foundry software is already in use at DHS, HHS, and other agencies, helping the White House consolidate multiple streams of data across departments.
The data-gathering effort began under Elon Musk’s DOGE, which aimed to collect personal information from agencies such as the IRS, Social Security, Selective Service, and Medicare. Thiel, connected to the program through Musk and former employees, now has his company, Palantir, playing a major role in the long term. Led by CEO Alex Karp, a former critic of Trump, Palantir now has access to large amounts of government data.
Another Big Story…
Social media erupted after President Trump re-shared a conspiracy theory on Truth Social claiming Joe Biden died in 2020 and was replaced by a clone.
Trump reposted a claim made by social media user @llijh on Truth Social without adding any comment. The post reads: “There is no #JoeBiden – executed in 2020. #Biden clones doubles & robotic engineered soulless mindless entities are what you see. #Democrats dont know the difference.”
Social media erupted over Trump’s repost, with some conservatives joking and others taking it seriously. Liberals, including Keith Olbermann and Harry Sisson, blasted Trump for pushing the idea that Biden might be an impostor.

The Trump administration recently withdrew Jared Isaacman’s nomination for NASA administrator, citing a lack of full alignment with the president’s agenda.
The Trump administration plans to begin resettling thousands of White South African refugees by late summer. Following a February executive order, 59 Afrikaners arrived in May ahead of Trump’s meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, with numbers expected to rise significantly.
At the Reagan National Economic Forum, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said the U.S. should stockpile weapons and resources—not bitcoin—to strengthen national security.
During a speech at a U.S. Steel plant in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, President Trump was joined on stage by Pittsburgh Steelers players. Mason Rudolph, Miles Killebrew, and former star Rocky Bleier presented him with a custom No. 47 jersey.

THE SENATE
•Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) says at least four Senate Republicans may oppose the "big beautiful bill" as it heads to the Senate. Paul criticized the bill for raising the debt but said he wants to support it if the debt ceiling hike is removed. The other likely holdouts include Sens. McConnell, Murkowski, and Collins.
•At a California Democratic convention, Sen. Cory Booker made the same gesture that previously led liberal media to accuse Elon Musk of a Nazi salute. This time, however, the media focused criticism on conservatives for raising similar concerns about Booker.
The Resistance…
Despite the Trump administration and RFK Jr. announcing otherwise, COVID vaccines remain recommended for healthy children over six months old, according to updated CDC guidelines recently released.
Liberals are now acknowledging concerns about Biden’s cognitive decline, which insiders say was worse than it appeared publicly. A Secret Service whistleblower claimed Biden once couldn’t find his way out of his own closet.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz urged Democrats to "be a little meaner" during a speech in South Carolina, fueling 2028 presidential speculation. Speaking at the state party convention, Walz criticized President Trump as a "cruel man" and said Democrats need to “bully the s*** out of him."

Your Opinions & Questions…
Cass45459: “I cried so hard on the story of the soldier and his family. I worked as a nurse. I remember all of us talking one day when suddenly one of our nurses got a call. He explained how he had to leave to escort a soldier home. He explained the procedure for bringing our soldiers home, never leaving that body until its home. I had no idea. He left his job to do his job. I was moved beyond words.”
JPJWilli: “Our men and women in uniform sacrifice SO much, as do their family. I know, because I had the honor to serve 10 years. I was gone from my family for a total of 6 of those years. Our family would do it again for our country and its people.”
