Today’s Big Story…

A federal appeals court granted the Trump administration’s request to temporarily pause a ruling that struck down most of Trump’s tariffs.

The administration had warned it would seek emergency relief from the Supreme Court if the pause weren’t granted. The U.S. Court of International Trade paused its ruling while it reviews legal filings, giving the Trump administration time to argue that the law allows the president to impose global tariffs unilaterally.

The appeals court gave plaintiffs a week to respond, with the government’s reply due by June 9. Trump officials say they have backup plans for imposing tariffs if they lose the case.

Even if we lose, we will do it another way,” trade advisor Peter Navarro confirmed.

Another Big Story…

FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino revealed this week that they’ve uncovered a trove of hidden files they believe were deliberately concealed from leadership.

In separate interviews, both men pointed to former FBI Director James Comey, stating that most of the files date back to Comey’s tenure and were found stashed in unexpected locations. Patel told Fox News’ Bret Baier that, despite being closely involved in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, he had never seen some of the material.

Bongino added that upon arriving at the FBI, several agents quietly urged them to dig deeper, leading to the discovery of what he described as a "hidden room" filled with unprocessed documents. He claimed many of these files were never digitized or formally added to the FBI’s record system. Patel and Bongino stated that they are now working to declassify the documents, although some are under the control of other intelligence agencies. Bongino stressed that once released, the contents would shock the public and expose internal practices from Comey’s era.

In the same interview, Patel addressed lingering speculation about the FBI’s presence during the January 6 Capitol riot. He promised a definitive answer is coming soon regarding whether FBI sources were embedded in the crowd that day. Patel suggested the forthcoming disclosures will contradict past statements by former FBI officials and could surprise many Americans.

The Administration…

  • President Trump will hold a 1:30 p.m. press conference today at the White House with Elon Musk, who is stepping down from his role as a special government employee. Musk, who led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) since January, announced his departure after reaching the 130-day service limit.

  • President Trump and his Cabinet will now lead the DOGE following Musk’s decision to step down from the role. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump and his team are fully committed to eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in government.

  • President Trump announced he will nominate Paul Ingrassia to lead the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, praising his work as the White House homeland security liaison.

  • The Trump administration is reversing plans to end leases for 34 Mine Safety and Health Administration offices, according to the Department of Labor.

  • The State Department plans to consolidate over 300 offices and bureaus in a reorganization effort to streamline operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio first announced the overhaul in April. The agency submitted its restructuring notice to Congress, marking the largest shake-up since the Cold War.

  • Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth appointed a new head of the Pentagon’s test office and cut its staff by over half. Hegseth said the move aligns with the Defense Department’s “America First” strategy by streamlining the Office of Operational Test and Evaluation.

  • The Justice Department informed the American Bar Association that it will no longer participate in its judicial nominee ratings, calling the process biased and slanted toward Democratic picks. Attorney General Pam Bondi sent the notice to ABA President William R. Bay.

  • A federal judge has refused to reinstate Shira Perlmutter as Register of Copyrights after her firing by the Trump administration, delivering an early legal win for Trump’s team.

  • The Supreme Court ruled to limit judges’ ability to block infrastructure projects over environmental concerns. In this case, the Court narrowed the scope of environmental reviews required under the National Environmental Policy Act. The decision could speed up federal approval for highways, airports, and pipelines, aligning with Trump’s push against judicial overreach.

  • President Trump announced several judicial nominations. He named former defense attorney Emil Bove for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. For the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, he nominated Kyle Dudek, Anne-Leigh Gaylord Moe, John Guard, and Jordan E. Pratt. Trump also selected Ed Artau for the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida.

  • Bernie Kerik, a former NYPD commissioner allied with Trump and a 9/11 hero, has died at 69. FBI Director Patel announced his passing, citing a private battle with illness.

Vice President…

JD Vance’s charter plane, once known as “Trump Force Two,” was previously used during his campaign alongside President Trump, but is now serving a very different role. The red, white, and blue aircraft is transporting illegal aliens for deportation, according to public aviation logs and a group that tracks such flights.

The same plane that crisscrossed the country in 2023 for campaign events is now making quiet trips to Central American countries. Records show it has been used to deport illegal aliens to several nations in the region.

Congress…

THE HOUSE

Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA) accused Elon Musk and DOGE of criminal activity during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Weeknight.” He added that Democrats plan to investigate if they return to power.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced that the House will soon vote on a bill to cut $500 million funding for NPR and PBS. Earlier this month, President Trump signed an executive order urging Congress to end that funding.

Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) introduced a bill to rename D.C.'s subway system after President Trump and his MAGA slogan. The "Make Autorail Great Again Act" would cut federal funding to WMATA unless it rebrands as WMAGA and renames the Metrorail the "Trump Train."

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has launched an investigation into President Trump’s recent meme coin dinner, requesting the White House release the attendee list. He claimed that foreign governments may be using cryptocurrency to gain influence.

Disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, now running for a New York City Council seat, joked about his past sexting scandal in a recent interview, saying “women are crazy about me.” Weiner, 60, left office in shame over a sexting scandal and later served prison time for messaging a 15-year-old girl. He’s now seeking a political comeback in Manhattan’s District 2 Democratic primary.

THE SENATE

Sens. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) and John Cornyn (R-TX) announced they will hold the first full congressional hearing next month on President Biden’s “cognitive decline” and what they call a media cover-up.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Americans should thank Elon Musk for helping the DOGE reduce waste and reform the federal workforce.

Former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson is running for U.S. Senate in Alabama, as Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville launches a bid for governor.

The Resistance…

  1. ICE arrested 54-year-old illegal alien Ramon Morales-Reyes of Mexico after he allegedly threatened to assassinate President Trump.

  2. ICE agents arrested 20-year-old illegal alien and convicted rapist Alex Yonatan Flores-Arce in Maryland, a sanctuary state that had shielded him from federal enforcement. Exclusive footage shows Flores-Arce smirking as he’s taken into custody to await deportation.

  3. Democratic Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell is under investigation for allegedly obstructing ICE operations. DHS and congressional committees are probing whether he used federal funds to aid illegal aliens and interfere with immigration enforcement.

  4. The Justice Department said it's arranging a charter flight to bring back a deported man, identified as O.C.G., so he can receive due process. A federal judge ordered his return last week.

  5. A federal judge dealt a setback to the Trump administration’s push to end a Biden-era parole program for illegal aliens from Afghanistan, Latin America, and Ukraine. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani, an Obama appointee, ordered the administration to resume processing work permit applications and status renewals for those illegal aliens.

  6. Despite heavy promotion of his new book Original Sin, CNN host Jake Tapper saw his lowest-rated month in nearly a decade this May. Tapper launched a broad publicity tour to promote it, appearing on multiple shows and receiving extensive coverage on CNN, but his ratings still dropped.

  7. A federal judge extended her block on the Trump administration’s attempt to stop Harvard from enrolling foreign students. Judge Allison Burroughs issued the decision after the administration offered a 30-day reprieve before revoking the university’s authority to admit international students.

  8. The FBI is investigating a scheme to digitally impersonate White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Senators, governors, and business leaders recently received fake messages from someone posing as Wiles. Authorities say a foreign nation is not suspected.

  9. Freed Israeli hostage Omer Shem Tov told CNN that Hamas said they wanted former Vice President Kamala Harris to win the 2024 election.
