47 Report: Day 38
TODAY’S BIG STORY…
President Trump recently signed an executive order that is flying below most of the media's radar, but it will enforce price transparency in healthcare, directing federal agencies to uphold a 2019 order requiring insurers and hospitals to disclose costs. The order emphasizes and mandates disclosure of overall prices, not estimates, helping standardize price information and enforcing compliance. Health plans must also post negotiated rates, out-of-network payments, and prescription drug costs while maintaining an online tool for consumer access.
Trump’s 2019 order required hospitals to display pricing for 300 services and provide a machine-readable file of all rates. Now, in 2025, the Departments of Treasury, Labor, and HHS have 90 days to create an enforcement framework based on this pursuit of full transparency in an age where medical care costs continue to rise.
Additionally, Trump revealed plans for an immigration "Gold Card." It’s a $5 million purchasable green card providing work authorization and a path to citizenship, replacing the EB-5 program. The initiative aims to reduce the deficit by attracting wealthy investors, job creators, and global talent, eliminating green card lotteries in favor of direct investment. Gold Card holders would be vetted and pay full U.S. taxes on domestic income but none on foreign earnings.
Trump estimates selling 1 million cards could generate $5 trillion, while 10 million could eliminate the national debt with $50 trillion. He asserts the plan is legal without congressional approval, as it pertains to green cards, not automatic citizenship, and notes similar programs exist in other countries.
AND HERE’S ANOTHER BIG STORY…
The White House announced it would determine which media outlets, including the Oval Office and Air Force One, have access to presidential press pools rather than mainstream journalist groups. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated the White House Correspondents’ Association would no longer have sole control over press pool organization, with access now decided daily by the administration. Many are praising the decision as something long overdue, mainly because of the biased reporting rhetoric of the mainstream press, as well as their collectivism in purposeful journalistic deception to paint the Trump administration in the most negative light possible.
For example, The Associated Press reported that over 20 civil service employees resigned from Elon Musk’s DOGE to protest their opposition to the agency’s recent actions. Musk debunked the claim, labeling it “fake news,” explaining the employees were Democratic holdovers who refused to return to the office and would have been fired anyway.
MY OPINION…
From Denny: There are many problems plaguing America, but the expensive costs of healthcare are at the top of the list for many people. For example, my sister, Ashley, constantly frets over the amount it costs in co-pays, insurance, and medications to manage her autoimmune disease. And she’s one person; these escalating costs also burden millions of families. It would be great if Trump and Secretary Kennedy could bring healthcare costs down to price-friendly levels.
As for the White House’s media initiative, I may be biased, but I think it’s great to rid of yesterday’s pool and bring in new blood. The Trump administration knows alternative media is the future.
Regarding the Gold Card, I texted my dad and asked, “What do you think?” He reiterated his tweet, saying, “Brilliant.” He then added, “It’ll be my opening monologue tomorrow on the podcast.”

THE ADMINISTRATION…
Trump signed an executive order that suspends security clearances for Covington & Burling LLP employees linked to former special counsel Jack Smith. After signing, he tossed the pen and joked: “Send it to Jack Smith!”
Trump says Ukrainian President Zelenskyy will visit the White House to sign a rare earth minerals deal as a trade compromise for the U.S., lending the nation billions of taxpayer dollars.
Blackwater CEO Erik Prince has proposed a $25 billion plan to the Trump administration to handle mass deportations. His plan includes using military bases as processing centers and a fleet of 100 planes to deport 500,000 people per month, aiming to remove 12 million by the 2026 midterms.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth arrived at Guantanamo Bay to tour the detention facilities designed to house illegal aliens.
Trump’s Department of Agriculture is moving to block illegal aliens from receiving food stamps while also supporting the proposed ban on using benefits for junk food and sugary drinks.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services X account posted the following: “In support of executive order, Protecting the American People Against Invasion, @DHSgov requires all aliens to register with USCIS. Failure to comply will result in criminal and civil penalties, up to and including prosecution and fines.”
In Saint Paul, Minnesota—a designated "sanctuary city"—ICE has arrested three convicted illegal alien child predators, paving the way for their deportation.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is ending the use of the CBP One app for migrant flights, except for self-deportation. Her decision follows journalist Breanna Morello’s report exposing the Biden administration’s secretive method of fast-tracking migrants through airport security without valid ID.
Noem also confirmed she found the ICE raid leakers and fired them from their posts.
Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, has issued directives to terminate employment and revoke the security clearances of over 100 intelligence officials from agencies like the NSA, CIA, and DIA. These officials were involved in chatrooms discussing explicit sexual topics during work hours.
The FBI is formally investigating former director James Comey for running an off-the-books honeypot operation to infiltrate Trump’s 2016 campaign with undercover agents.
DOGE canceled more wasteful spending projects, including $520 million for ESG investments in Africa, $69 million to the Eurasia Foundation for “digital transformation activity,” and $32 million toward programs including “media enabling democracy, inclusion, and accountability in Moldova.”
The Trump administration placed National Center for Education Statistics Commissioner Peggy Carr on leave weeks after national test scores hit two-decade lows. Carr, appointed by Biden in 2021, previously led NCES’s Assessment Division for nearly 20 years.
Melania Trump’s plans as First Lady in a potential second term will differ from her first. Recently, she has been involved in her own projects at the White House and Mar-a-Lago, including a documentary she is executive producing for Amazon Prime Video with Fernando Sulichin, and directed by Brett Ratner.

VICE PRESIDENT…
JD Vance urged immigrants to prioritize American interests over their home countries, calling it “offensive” to use U.S. influence to settle foreign conflicts.
On X, he recalled a 2022 encounter with a Ukrainian-American who criticized his stance on ending the Ukraine war. The man accused Vance of abandoning Ukraine, to which Vance replied, “Your country is the United States, and so is mine.” He reiterated his belief that immigrants should fully embrace America rather than advocate for their former nations.
CONGRESS…
The Senate confirmed Daniel Driscoll as the 26th Secretary of the Army, in a 66-28 vote. Driscoll’s swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Vice President Vance.
The House passed a resolution advancing a multi-trillion-dollar bill focused on Trump’s priorities for border security, defense, energy, and taxes. The measure passed 217-215, with all Democrats and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) opposing it over deficit concerns. House committees will now draft proposals, which will be negotiated into a final deal with the Senate.
The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitution and Limited Government convened a hearing to examine the connection between the 14th Amendment and President Trump’s executive actions to end birthright citizenship. Trump signed an executive order to end birthright citizenship on Inauguration Night after returning to the Oval Office.
A few sophomore House members from the GOP side visited President Trump and Vice President Vance at the White House for critical legislative discussions.
Rep. Byron Donalds has officially announced his candidacy for Governor of Florida. Donalds, endorsed by President Trump, praised current Governor Ron DeSantis for his work but stated his intention to seek Florida’s leadership amid rumors of DeSantis’ wife, Casey DeSantis, running for governor.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) protested at the Capitol in D.C. this week and criticized Trump’s enforcement of immigration laws. She yelled to supporters: “We can’t let them deport the millions of families across this country… Look at the food on your table. Think about who picked it.”
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) was there too, and was asked by a reporter if she had a message for Elon Musk, to which she responded: “F*** off!”
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is facing scrutiny after an alleged undercover video was released in which he admitted to abusing his power as a congressman, discussed orgies on Capitol Hill, and made comments about cheating on his wife. The California Democrat previously was cleared of misconduct in a House Ethics Committee probe regarding his sexual relationship with a Chinese spy.
Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) suffered a severe concussion, seizure, and slight brain bleed after slipping on ice near his lake house. He is recovering and taking it "day to day" before resuming duties. Trump responded on Truth Social, wishing him well and praising his wife Kris for her quick response.
THE RESISTANCE…
A whistleblower has alleged that the FBI is deleting files related to Jeffrey Epstein's case, sparking discussions on social media and pressure from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna's task force, which is also seeking the release of the long overdue JFK assassination records.
Anti-ICE activists in Los Angeles are disrupting raids and doxxing agents by posting their photos and personal details around the city. The Community Self-Defense Coalition, with over 100 volunteers, has patrolled neighborhoods, warning residents of ICE presence and claiming to have halted two raids in California’s Alhambra and San Fernando.
Media outlets, including The New York Times, Washington Post, and CBS News, reported on voter anger at Rep. Rich McCormick’s town hall in Georgia as evidence of bipartisan backlash against DOGE’s government spending cuts. CBS quoted protest organizer Maggie Goldman as a McCormick constituent without noting her background; Goldman is a Democratic activist who coordinated volunteers for Pete Buttigieg’s 2020 campaign.
A 28-year-old Indiana man, David Cherry, was arrested after allegedly making violent threats against Elon Musk on social media. Indiana State Police took him into custody following a tip from Texas authorities.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) and Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) are urging Trump to let states issue work permits to illegal aliens. Polis claims most governors support more control over immigration policy, while Stitt advocates for a simpler employment visa process in his state to allow migrants to work.
Judge Loren AliKhan, a Biden appointee, blocked President Trump from freezing billions in federal aid—calling his spending cuts “breathtaking” and siding with left-wing nonprofits.
Former MSNBC host Joy Reid gave a final farewell following the cancellation of her primetime show. Reid’s 7 p.m. slot will soon be replaced by rotating anchors, though the network fired a slew of other media employees, including a departing Lester Holt.
