TODAY’S BIG STORY…

Speaker Mike Johnson and the House GOP leadership are planning on putting their multi-trillion dollar budget resolution on the floor for a vote today. Keep in mind, there are just 17 days until federal agencies run out of money.

Trump has endorsed the House GOP plan, despite it not allowing the budgetary room to permanently extend the 2017 tax cuts plus enact his other initiatives. Permanent extension of the 2017 cuts has a $4.7 trillion price tag. This resolution, at most, has $4 trillion in space for tax cuts. With a narrow majority, Speaker Mike Johnson can afford only one GOP defection if all Democrats vote against it. All in, this will certainly create a bumpy few days for the White House.

In other economic matters, President Trump confirmed that sweeping tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports will take effect again as scheduled next week. Following a month-long delay, Trump stated the 25% tariffs are “going forward on time, on schedule.”

AND HERE’S ANOTHER BIG STORY…

The US Southern Border is looking much better, as migrants come to realize the Trump administration isn’t playing games. According to the DHS, a mere 200 encounters were recorded on February, 22, marking a single day low spanning 15-years.

With enforcement at the border now in full swing, the Trump administration is focusing on deportations. This is causing activists to take measures to combat ICE. For example, flyers exposing names, photos, and phone numbers of ICE agents have appeared in a Southern California neighborhood. Federal sources confirm that anti-ICE activists, recently disrupting ICE operations in LA, are behind the Spanish-language posters targeting ICE and HSI officers. The flyers warn, "CAREFUL WITH THESE FACES."

MY OPINION…

I think all conservative voters like me want reduced government spending, especially after the fraud and corruption exposed at DOGE. I understand Trump and the GOP can’t give us everything we want. But there is one area of spending that needs to end. We want our money used wisely, not funneled to Ukraine. Sending another dime to Ukraine would disappoint a lot of people.

As for the border being peaceful and quiet, I have been around this game way too long to get complacent. While I applaud the progress in just 37 days to reduce illegal immigration, I'd wager the undetected crossings are still worrisome. I am told migrants and bad actors are reverting back to the old days when they slipped through unnoticed. The method of turning themselves in as asylum seekers is over, but the desire to get here remains high. And the drugs continue to flow. The way you can tell: The price for streets drugs have not gone up, meaning the supply is still aplenty.

My sources say cartels are charging triple to sneak people past Border Patrol. Though apprehension numbers are way down, the influx of illegals remains a problem—we can’t let up. I’d love to hear the president push for mandatory E-Verify. If illegal workers can’t get jobs, no one will come, and people will leave on their own.

THE ADMINISTRATION…

  • Ukraine confirmed it is in the “final stages” of a deal to sell rare earth minerals to the U.S., an agreement President Trump proposed as a way for America to benefit. The European Union responded by offering Ukraine a 'win-win' deal on the supply of critical raw materials, presenting it as an alternative to the proposal from the United States.

  • President Trump is set for a busy week of foreign leader meetings as his administration works on a potential Russia-Ukraine peace deal. The week started with Trump meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, who had called for an emergency summit after Europe was excluded from U.S.-led negotiations in Saudi Arabia.

  • Trump posted to Truth Social about reviving the Keystone XL Pipeline, and inviting back the company slated to build.

  • Elon Musk’s directive for federal workers to email their weekly accomplishments or face dismissal faced some resistance, with some Trump-appointed agency leaders instructing staff to ignore it. The Office of Personnel Management later clarified that responding was voluntary, contradicting Musk’s threat, as federal employees grappled with conflicting guidance.

  • Trump confirmed plans to visit Fort Knox alongside Elon Musk to inspect the gold reserves for assurance of their presence.

  • Dan Bongino confirmed he will leave his podcast after Trump appointed him as Deputy FBI Director.Bongino stated, “This is a mission I can’t say no to.”

  • Manhattan’s Roosevelt Hotel migrant shelter will close in the coming months, Mayor Eric Adams announced, citing his commitment to following Trump’s immigration policies. Adams called the closure a “milestone” for New York, which has received over 232,000 migrants since the crisis began in 2022.

  • Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced his first upcoming visit to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.

  • Hegseth welcomed Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and his delegation to the Pentagon on Monday.

  • A former DoD insider says it's “no surprise” Elon Musk’s DOGE is targeting the Pentagon, predicting it will expose extensive waste, fraud, and abuse.

  • The VA fired 1,400 more employees following earlier cuts of 1,000. The agency said those dismissed were “non-mission critical” probationary staff with under two years of service.

  • There are now less than 300 remaining staff of USAID, along with an unknown number of the 5,000 locally hired international staff members abroad running the few life-saving programs left in place.

  • Linda McMahon, Trump’s pick to run the Department of Education, appears to be fully on board with dismantling the agency she’s set to run per comments made to Sen. Warren during her confirmation hearings.

  • A federal judge denied the AP’s emergency motion Monday to regain access to White House press events amid its lawsuit against three Trump officials.

  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed more revelations on Havana Syndrome are expected under Trump’s second presidency. The attacks first reported in 2016 in Cuba, caused severe neurological symptoms in U.S. diplomats and intelligence officers, with some suffering permanent damage.

  • Vivek Ramaswamy launched his 2026 Ohio governor campaign, positioning himself as an America First conservative. Speaking in Cincinnati, the former DOGE leader pledged economic and cultural renewal. He quickly received endorsements from both Trump and Elon Musk.

  • Governor Ron DeSantis has taken a page from the Trump playbook by announcing the establishment of a 'DOGE Task Force' in Florida, aimed at enhancing government efficiency.

  • Elon Musk is actively pushing for a state DOGE department in California to audit the Democrat-led state.

  • In support of Trump’s immigration policies, Mississippi DA Matthew Barton and Senator Mike McClendon unveiled the MICE Act, creating a state immigration enforcement division to help deport illegal aliens.

  • Inspired by HHS Sec. Kennedy, the Utah Legislature passed a bill proposing to ban fluoride from public drinking water across the state. If signed into law by Governor Cox, Utah will be the first state to implement such a ban.

  • In a vote at the UN General Assembly, Israel joined the US and Russia in voting against a resolution that condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine. This vote comes amidst a backdrop where Ukraine has frequently voted against Israel at the UN.

VICE PRESIDENT…

JD Vance will visit Vermont this weekend, staying at the Pitcher Inn, Republican Gov. Phil Scott’s office confirmed. Vermont State Police are coordinating security, but Scott, a frequent Trump critic, has no plans to meet with the VP.

CONGRESS…

Sen. Ted Cruz, chair of the Senate Commerce Committee, is subpoenaing the Massachusetts Port Authority for documents on migrant sheltering at Boston Logan Airport, calling it "reckless and offensive." Republicans requested the records last year but received no response.

Five Senate Democrats, led by Sen. Dick Durbin, sent a letter to Trump condemning his transfer of migrants to Guantánamo Bay, calling it “unprecedented, unlawful, and harmful.” They noted the U.S. has never detained individuals there from within its borders, though the facility temporarily housed Haitian and Cuban migrants over 30 years ago.

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer accused Trump of “siding” with Putin over NATO allies on the Ukraine war’s third anniversary. Speaking on the Senate floor, Schumer argued Trump is now sharply diverging from bipartisan backing for Ukraine.

Seen as part of the Trump agenda for government transparency, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced that the GOP Oversight Task Force will hold its first hearing on March 26 to examine the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

House Democrats introduced the EQUITY Act to protect DEI in the military after Trump’s order to dismantle such programs. Led by Rep. Marilyn Strickland (D-Wash.), the bill has nine co-sponsors, including members of the Black and Hispanic caucuses.

House Republican Dan Crenshaw’s hot mic rant about Trump ally Tucker Carlson went viral after a leaked video captured him saying he’d “f*cking kill” the former Fox News star if they met. Carlson responded, inviting the Texas lawmaker to his home for a talk. See video.

Senator Bernie Sanders publicly challenged Republican senators to refute Trump's claims that Ukrainian President Zelensky is a dictator.

THE CRAZY LEFT…

Several Democrat donors have paused financial contributions, calling the party weak and ineffective after Trump’s return to the presidency. One major donor told The Hill, “The Democratic Party is f***ing terrible,” adding that the 2024 loss was worse than 2016.

Mark Cuban admitted Democrats "can’t sell" and praised Trump as a marketing master, comparing him to Paris Hilton and Dennis Rodman. A former top ally of Kamala Harris in 2024, Cuban said he advised her team not to bother guiding him on messaging, calling Trump a “great salesperson.”

Despite Germany electing a new leader, little change is expected. Likely Chancellor Friedrich Merz dismissed Trump’s recent remarks about Europe, calling for “independence” from the U.S. and accusing Washington of election interference. Voters ousted the leftist coalition in favor of the conservative Christian Democrats and populist-right AfD.

Nate Morris is considering a GOP run for Mitch McConnell’s Senate seat, but there are concerns of his ties to former Democratic operatives. He also previously backed Nikki Haley to oppose Trump after the 2020 election.

A Biden-appointed federal judge temporarily blocked DOGE from accessing personal records at the Department of Education. Judge Deborah Boardman issued a two-week restraining order, preventing the DoEd and OPM from sharing sensitive financial data.

Lester Holt announced he will step down as anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News this summer. This follows NBC’s recent firing of Joy Reid, another anti-Trump commentator.

MSNBC is cutting more shows after canceling Joy Reid’s, with anchors Katie Phang, Jonathan Capehart, and Ayman Mohyeldin reportedly next, according to The New York Post.

According to updated reports, the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles have NOT declined an invite to visit President Trump. They are awaiting a formal invitation from the White House for the traditional trip.

Far-left journalist Aaron Rupar, sparked discussions regarding the health of President Trump after images surfaced showing a bruise on his right hand. Speculation is the bruise might be linked to medical treatments or medications like blood thinners, although no official health updates have confirmed these theories. The photo was reportedly taken during a recent event.

Kamala Harris struggled to explain what it was like to tour the aftermath of fires that ripped through L.A. last month. Social media criticisms were aplenty, with many people highlighting that she remains the Demcocratic frontrunner for governor of California in 2026, and for president in 2028.

Larsya: Corruption runs even deeper in this country and I'm glad Trump is aggressively addressing it. But he's wrong about Ukraine. I typically agree with Trumps policies but for the record, and not necessarily as my personal endorsement of President Zelensky, he's not a dictator. He is just another President with a large ego.

DML REPLY: Zelenskyy is a POS.

QuincyP: Why does Senator Graham want to fund Ukraine so badlly?

DML REPLY: In my opinion: Because he is a war monger, and because of who funds him at election time.
