TODAY’S BIG STORY…

The U.S. Senate confirmed Kash Patel as FBI Director yesterday in a 51-49 vote. A longtime Trump ally, Patel previously served as senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council during Trump’s first administration. And while most Republicans voted in Patel’s favor, there were two notable ‘no’ votes: Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. This comes as no surprise, the two ladies have voted against Trump appointees before.

Ahead of the vote, multiple Democrat senators, including Senator Adam Schiff, railed against Patel in speeches on the Senate floor. The California Democrat had a contentious spat with Patel during his confirmation hearings, often invoking J6 events for political points. But Patel held his ground, and now he is a swearing-in ceremony away from becoming Director of the FBI.

AND HERE’S ANOTHER BIG STORY…

Three empty buses exploded near Israel’s Tel Aviv in a suspected coordinated terror attack. The blasts occurred in separate parking lots in Bat Yam. No injuries were reported, and two additional bombs were discovered on other buses.

This comes after Hamas paraded around the dead Israeli hostages through the streets of Gaza before handing them over to authorities. Even Palestinian children were seen cheering and celebrating the death of the Bibas family, a group of hostage victims killed by Hamas. This has sparked a swift rebuke from the Trump administration. According to Israel’s conservative Channel 14 outlet, President Trump told advisors, "I want to see Gaza wiped out. I don’t want to see even one building standing."

MY OPINION…

The addition of Kash Patel is like finding a rookie center fielder that nobody took seriously at first — but then he gets his shot — and from day one he puts up numbers worthy of being a future Hall of Famer. Not only will the FBI recover and regroup into a respected agency under Kash, but a lot of people that have done your country wrong are going to be in his crosshairs.

There is zero question in my mind that Trump sat Kash down and told him what he expects: Bad people need to be investigated immediately. When I say “bad people”, I mean the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff. The two of them have treated Trump with more disrespect than any two people on Earth. Pelosi’s alleged insider trading is going to be reviewed by Kash with a microscope; there will be a price to pay for her ripping up the State of the Union speech and causing the J6 fiasco to boil over.

As for Mr. Schiff, you don’t impeach and abuse a man over fake news and fraudulent FISA applications without risk. Adam did not manage his risk very well, Kash will see to it that Schiff regrets the day he screwed with Trump. Other people I suspect find their way on the list: Obama, Clinton(s), Jim Acosta, Alec Baldwin, Robert DeNiro, Michael Cohen, A.G. James, Joe Biden, little boy Anthony Scarramucci, and a list of other radicals that are panicking this very minute. The list is long. As for Gaza, wipe it off the face of the Earth already — radical Muslims will never change.

THE ADMINISTRATION…

  • President Trump hosted a White House reception for Black History Month, attended by Black conservatives, including Tiger Woods, who wore his 2019 Presidential Medal of Freedom. Notable guests included HUD Director Scott Turner, Sen. Tim Scott, Rep. John James, Alveda King, Herschel Walker, and prison reform advocate Alice Johnson, whom Trump pardoned in 2020.

  • Trump announced the National Garden of American Heroes will include statues of African American icons Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Coretta Scott King, Frederick Douglas, Jackie Robinson, MLK Jr., Muhammad Ali, and Kobe Bryant.

  • Trump said his administration will inspect the gold reserves at Fort Knox to ensure the gold is still there. Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump’s remarks follow Elon Musk’s calls to audit the estimated $425 billion in gold stored at the facility. Fort Knox, which holds 147.3 million ounces of bullion, has mainly been off-limits for decades.

  • The Trump administration plans to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitian immigrants who arrived under Biden. Up to 500,000 Haitians, including those who entered illegally, will lose deportation protections and work permits in August. This move cuts short the TPS extension granted by former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, which was set to last until February 2026.

  • White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller at the press briefing room stated the following: "I will promise you that the full might of the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, the Department of Defense will be used to remove, with speed, all criminal illegals from the soil of the U.S.A."

  • At CPAC, Elon Musk humorously addressed claims of being a 'bought asset' of Vladimir Putin by stating that Putin 'can't afford' him, which was met with amusement and laughs from attendees.

  • Argentina's President Javier Milei presented Musk with a DOGE-themed chainsaw, symbolizing a playful yet pointed message about cutting government waste, fraud, and abuse.

  • Ukrainian President Zelensky postponed visiting Saudi Arabia to protest U.S.-Russia talks on ending the war. He clarified that he did not want his trip to be seen as endorsing the meetings in Riyadh, which he claimed were a "surprise" to Ukraine.

  • Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, when asked about the Keystone XL pipeline’s return by Fox News’ Bret Baier, said President Trump is currently prioritizing other key infrastructure projects, including pipelines.

  • National Security Advisor Mike Waltz criticized warmongerers who are against President Trump’s call for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

  • National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett confirmed to the press gaggle that President Trump has spoken about the possibility of replacing income tax with tariff revenue.

  • Secretary Scott Turner announced that HUD will cancel $4 million in DEI contracts after its new DOGE task force identified $260 million in savings. The contracts targeted “culture transformation, mindset training, and subscription services.”

  • Secretary Sean Duffy is targeting Governor Newsom and California Democrats with a federal probe into California’s High-Speed Rail project over financial mismanagement and potential fund recovery. The project is over budget by $100 billion and over a decade behind schedule.

  • U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi fired Pamela Hicks, the general counsel for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

  • A federal judge allowed Trump’s efforts to shrink the federal workforce to proceed, denying a union request to block firings.

  • The Trump administration rescinded all White House regulations governing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), including some dating back to 1978.

  • ICE Air Operations transported 177 Venezuelan illegal aliens from Guantanamo Bay to Honduras for pickup by the Venezuelan government, which returned them to their home country.

  • Discussions about DOGE dividends continue to ramp up, with some Americans sharing their expectations of what payouts could look like on social media. To date, speculation is for each American household to receive $5,000.

  • Trump shared footage of his call with the U.S. Hockey Team before their 4 Nations Face-Off Final against Canada. In the video, Trump delivered a motivational message while coaches and players listened with smiles. Ultimately, however, the USA lost to Canada. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded on X, “You can’t take our country — and you can’t take our game.”

  • Daniel Penny was honored by the Marine Corps League at Boston’s Iwo Jima Day, receiving the prestigious Semper Fidelis award.

VICE PRESIDENT…

At CPAC’s opening session, JD Vance praised the Trump administration’s first month for restoring "safety and prosperity."

Speaking at National Harbor, Maryland, Vance pointed to President Trump’s focus on illegal immigration, energy dominance, and cutting government waste through DOGE. Vance quipped that Trump signed "more executive orders than CNN has viewers" and emphasized that taxpayer dollars should benefit Americans, not illegal immigrants.

CONGRESS…

Senator Mitch McConnell announced he won’t seek reelection, ending his decades-long tenure as a Republican power broker. The longest-serving Senate party leader, the 83-year-old revealed his decision on his birthday and plans to retire when his term ends.

Former Georgia Senator Kelly Loeffler was confirmed as head of the Small Business Administration in a 52-46 Senate vote. The vote largely followed party lines.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) received an endorsement from President Trump for Florida governor if he decides to run. Donalds has reportedly informed GOP donors of his plans to enter the race in the future.

Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) is working to block funding for President Trump’s birthright citizenship order, stating she wants to ensure everyone born in the U.S. retains their citizenship.

New York and New Jersey Republicans sent a letter to President Trump on Wednesday, opposing CDC job cuts affecting a program for 9/11 first responder survivors. GOP Reps. Andrew Garbarino, Mike Lawler, Nick LaLota, Claudia Tenney, Nicole Malliotakis, Nick Langworthy, Chris Smith, and Tom Kean Jr. publicly rebuked the decision.

THE CRAZY LEFT…

One month into Trump’s second term, a Media Research Center study found late-night comedians have mocked him nine times more than Biden at the same point in his presidency. Since Trump took office, he has been the target of 761 jokes, compared to just 88 about Biden in early 2021.

Former Reps. Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman, members of the leftist “Squad’ who lost their primaries last year, are launching a YouTube show.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced plans for constitutional reforms to safeguard sovereignty amid concerns over potential U.S. military action against drug cartels. Her remarks follow the Trump administration’s designation of six Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations, raising fears of a cross-border war.

Los Angeles Community College District sent out a letter to staff stating that they will continue promoting DEI initiatives despite the Department of Education’s letter instructing institutions to cease discriminatory practices.

A federal judge blocked the Trump administration from quickly deporting eight foreign nationals after they argued they faced persecution from the Taliban. Pro-migrant lawyers argue the administration is violating federal laws protecting those with credible fears of violence.

The wait is almost over : Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that the release of the Jeffrey Epstein and P. Diddy lists are imminent:

She told a reporter, “I was just briefed on this topic. There are LOTS of documents. LOTS of documents. Stay tuned. We are keeping this promise.”

Trump has declared that Maine will face a cut in federal funding due to its non-compliance with an executive order that prohibits men from participating in women's sports. Despite the federal directive, the Maine Principal's Association has affirmed that transgender female athletes can still compete under state law, illustrating a divergence rather than a direct conflict with federal policy.
