TRUMP & MUSK DEFEND DOGE

Speaking from the Oval Office, standing beside a seated President Trump, Elon Musk defended his sweeping impact over federal agencies under the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

When asked about critics who oppose his cuts to court-mandated programs, he insisted DOGE is being as transparent as possible. He said, “The people voted for major government reform and that’s what the people are going to get. That’s what democracy is all about.”

A reporter tried to target Musk with a “gotcha” question by correcting reports that $50 million worth of condoms were being shipped to Gaza when they were actually being sent to Mozambique. Musk responded: "I'm not sure we should be sending $50 million of condoms anywhere. That's really an enormously large amount of condoms."

Trump supported Musk, dismissing any issues with his role in DOGE and alleging widespread “kickbacks” in government contracts. He stated that with Musk’s help, his administration had uncovered billions in fraud and abuse. Trump also questioned the agendas of the radical judges who are trying to block his executive orders. He then talked mentioned how USAID abused American taxpayer’s money for years, and questioned why contracts never seemed to end — claiming there must be fraud involved.

ALSO…

Jordan’s King Abdullah II became the first Arab leader to meet with Trump since he retook office. Trump has pressured Jordan to accept displaced Palestinians from Gaza—something both Jordan and Egypt have refused to commit to. The meeting came amid a fragile ceasefire in Gaza, with Israel threatening to resume bombing if Hamas does not release all captives by Saturday.

Knowing Trump has suggested "taking over" a depopulated Gaza, Abdullah said he would do what was “best” for his country when asked if Jordan would accept displaced Palestinians. The king carefully chose his words in front of the media and avoided direct opposition to Trump, and he gave credit to the president as being someone who could finally bring peace to the Middle East.

In another big development, the Trump administration successfully secured the release of Marc Fogel, the American teacher who had been a prisoner in Russia since 2021. Fogel was serving a 14-year sentence after his arrest at a Russian airport for possession of drugs, which his family said was medically prescribed marijuana. Fogel met with Trump at the White House last night, calling the president “his hero.” Meanwhile, Fogel’s sister, appearing on CNN, praised Trump by saying he promised her months ago, before he was shot in Butler, PA, that he would return her brother home.

A Russian held in a U.S. prison will be repatriated to Russia following the release of Fogel, Moscow said early this morning.

Also worth a mention: Iran sent a letter to the U.N. on Tuesday warning that Trump’s threats to use military force against the country absent a nuclear deal, “will have severe consequences, for which the U.S. will bear full responsibility.”

My Opinion

I find it incredible how Trump is only a few years away from being 80-years-old and yet, he holds the calendar of a middle-aged man. Think about the comparison between Trump and Biden. It is simply remarkable how Trump can be handling so many important matters at one time, but he never loses his cool or trips over his words like Biden would during his infrequent appearances. Trump is front and center every day, looking fresh and bearing smiles. Yesterday, he met with the King, he then held a presser with Musk, and then he met with Fogel; sneaking in along the way the signing of executive orders, hosting phone calls, and attending briefings. The man is a machine.
