Trump dominates the Super Bowl
TRUMP’S SUPER BOWL
President Trump sat with Fox News’ Bret Baier for a pre-Super Bowl interview. Then he attended the big game in New Orleans, making him the first U.S. president to ever do so.
During the interview, Trump described the differences between his first presidency and this current one. For example, he noted that during his first term, he was surrounded by a lot of people who posed opposition to his agenda. With his second term, he said it’s different — he’s built a strong team.
Trump also told Baier that he “100 percent disagreed” with an Obama-appointed federal judge who ruled to block Elon Musk’s DOGE team from accessing the Treasury’s systems to uncover possible fraud and mismanagement. Trump insisted the government must continue to bring an end to fraud, waste, and abuse, citing USAID as a prime example. The judge issued the temporary restraining order after 19 Democratic attorneys general, led by New York AG Letitia James, argued DOGE access would violate the law.
Trump said he will instruct Musk to look into the Department of Education next, followed by the Pentagon. When asked if he trusts Musk, Trump said the billionaire has “nothing to gain” from his work, as he’s volunteering out of his desire to save the country.
While at the game, Trump was spotted several times alongside his daughter, Ivanka. During the National Anthem, the crowd went absolutely wild when the cameras caught Trump giving a legendary salute. In contrast, the crowed booed viciously when the cameras displayed Chiefs fan and Kamala Harris supporter, pop star Taylor Swift.
The game itself was uneventful as the Eagles won: 40-22. The halftime show was awful, showcasing a hip-hop star who was barely understandable and put on a performance that was highly ridiculed online.
The #SuperBowl halftime show would've been more entertaining if they had just set up a desk at the 50-yard line and let President Trump sign some more Executive Orders.

ALSO…
Following the game, the unhinged people of the liberal city of Philadelphia turned the streets into chaos in an uncontrolled, alcohol-fueled frenzy following their team's Super Bowl LIX victory.
Videos captured unruly fans jumping on top of cars, climbing on top of dump trucks, bus shelters and scaling traffic light poles. Crowds tried to flip a police vehicle, and a group pulled down two sets of traffic lights before smashing them to pieces.
Police were out on foot, motorbikes and on horseback all lined up in front of City Hall in an attempt to deter fans from bad behavior but they were vastly outnumbered - many of them allegedly drunk. The police stood emotionless as some fans tried to taunt them by shaking metal barriers.
Trump sizes up the entire night in a tweet.

My Opinion
In my opinion, the only highlight from last night was the crowd erupting when Trump's face hit the big screen during the National Anthem. It wasn’t just applause for the president; it was a loud, clear endorsement of the MAGA agenda. What makes it super awesome is the Super Bowl is watched worldwide, so it’s no longer a secret that the American people are thrilled with Trump's first three weeks. It sent a clear message: America is back, and we are moving forward with unbridled enthusiasm.
Swift looking visibly confused after being booed was well deserved, because it sends a clear message to the radical Left: the Democrat Party is history. And then there was the TV ad that took woke to a new level. It featured Tom Brady and Snoop Dogg preaching about blacks and whites avoiding hate? But the kicker is this: The NFL then puts on a halftime show that was all black — it was like watching a bunch of rappers bounce around in the hood. The only thing missing from the show was a carjacking.

Trump announced 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum starting this week, with reciprocal tariffs to follow. He confirmed the tariffs would affect all countries and hinted at broader measures on semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, oil, and gas.
Along the way to the Super Bowl on Air Force One, Trump signed a proclamation recognizing February 9 as Gulf of America Day.
According to Elon Musk, he has been told that there are currently over $100 BILLION annual entitlement payments to individuals with no social security number or even a temporary ID number.
The Trump administration halted Biden’s $5 billion EV charging program, citing poor results. Emily Biondi, a top transportation official, informed state DOT directors that the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program is officially suspended.
Trump announced the end of the production of the U.S. penny due to its production cost outweighing its value.
A Venezuelan state-owned jet used to evade U.S. sanctions was seized in the Dominican Republic. The Dassault Falcon 2000EX, linked to PdVSA, was confiscated during Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit for talks with the Dominican president.
The movement to make Canada the 51st state caught wind again after a hot mic from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed in a private meeting that the annexation idea was legitimate, saying: “Mr. Trump has it in mind that the easiest way to do it is absorbing our country and it is a real thing.”
Trump ruled out deporting Prince Harry out of the U.S., stating: “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
ICE agents arrested 11,000 illegal aliens in Trump’s first 18 days, already one-third of last year’s total under Biden.
CBS polls show Trump at 53% approval, which is his highest ever. 70% believe he’s fulfilling campaign promises, boosting his support.
Trump revoked security clearances for several Democrats, including Antony Blinken, Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Andrew Weissmann, Mark Zaid, and Norm Eisen. This follows his decision to strip Biden’s clearance and access to presidential briefings.
Russell Vought, one of the architects of Project 2025, ordered the headquarters of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau shut for the coming week, after ordering its workers to halt nearly all work, including regulatory supervision of banks and other financial companies.
Elon Musk publicly stated on X that the U.S. Department of Education 'no longer exists,' triggering widespread speculation. Legal experts point out that such a change would require an act of Congress, not an executive declaration. The actual operational status of the Department remains unchanged as of now.
THE CRAZY LEFT
The Trump administration is evicting at least eight liberal news outlets from their Pentagon offices to make room for new media organizations. The New York Times, NBC, NPR, and Politico will be replaced by The New York Post, OAN, Breitbart, and Huffington Post. Last week, CNN, The Washington Post, The Hill, and The War Zone were also told to vacate, with their spaces going to Newsmax, Washington Examiner, The Free Press, and Daily Caller.
Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.) during a hit on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” said Democrats are going to fight Elon Musk and DOGE at every step, suggesting the Left may be willing to shut down the government if needed.
Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin has announced plans for a class action lawsuit against Elon Musk and the former Trump administration, alleging a breach of American data through the Department of Government Efficiency, which some social media posts have referred to as DOGE.
Many NFL viewers were also upset with the rendition of the Black National Anthem, with many finding the tune's inclusion for the openings of games unnecessary and even divisive.
Does anyone really like this shit?

VICE PRESIDENT
J.D. Vance tweeted out the results of a recent survey by CBS, where they asked respondents: Do you approve or disapprove of the Trump administration's program to find and deport immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally?
A vast majority, on average at 59%, approve of the administration’s efforts, with Vance commenting: “What we're doing with the border is necessary to save the country. Glad to see the American people agree.”
Also…
Much like my Sunday Op-Ed that highlighted the shady radical judges who are getting in Trump’s way, Vance attacked them too for blocking Trump’s executive actions. Using X to voice his frustration, Vance characterized the rulings as “illegal.” His comment is in line with the president’s position, who when speaking to reporters on Sunday about a ruling restricting efforts by Elon Musk’s team to access data at the Treasury Department, said, “No judge should be allowed to make that kind of a decision.”
CONGRESS
Speaker Mike Johnson criticized Democrats' lack of leadership and vision, saying it weakens their ability to counter GOP measures. On Fox News Sunday, he claimed they are "flailing" amid Trump’s executive actions, struggling to respond effectively.
Senate GOP leaders are focusing on confirming former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Trump's Cabinet. Tonight, a cloture vote on Gabbard's nomination for director of national intelligence is scheduled. She secured support from Sens. Collins and Young, making her confirmation likely, though Sens. Curtis and McConnell are pivotal votes. If cloture passes, her confirmation could happen late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Next, Kennedy's nomination for HHS Secretary will be considered, with Sen. Cassidy's support suggesting success despite McConnell's opposition. Meanwhile, the Judiciary Committee will vote Thursday on Kash Patel for FBI director. Also on Thursday, more confirmations will take center stage: Brooke Rollins to be secretary of agriculture, Howard Lutnick for secretary of commerce and former Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) to be small business administrator.
Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) clashed with CBS’s Margaret Brennan over Trump’s foreign aid cuts on Face the Nation. Hagerty argued about USAID-funded Hamas in Gaza and backed LGBTQ initiatives abroad.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) claimed that Trump’s agency cuts lacked congressional support and called them “illegal” on Face the Nation. She argued Republicans aren't bringing them to Congress because they would fail. Omar, who once benefited from USAID aid as a refugee, criticized the administration’s moves as disruptive to the international community.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) detailed Democrats’ strategy to counter Trump and Elon Musk’s federal overhaul via DOGE and executive power. He said Democrats are fighting in court, in Congress, and through public outreach. Of 41 lawsuits, 12 have successfully blocked Trump’s actions.
Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.) warned Democrats are prepared to shut down the government over Trump’s actions, including closing USAID and granting DOGE access to federal payment systems.
House Republican leaders are looking to cut federal spending by $2 trillion to $2.5 trillion as part of their reconciliation push. House GOP negotiators now believe they will have to dig deeper into Medicaid spending to meet those targets, including potentially cutting benefits for enrollees.
The House is in session today through Thursday, and then members leave for a weeklong Presidents Day recess. The Senate will be in session next week.
